Wii Fit - Wii Funny!!

Options
Ok...so reading some of these fitness posts reminds me..

I'm laughing so hard just thinking about a time a few months
back when my husband and I purchased the Wii Fit. I was
so happy that I didn't have to transfer over my Mii character
that I so carefully personalized to look like myself...(of course,
I made my "Mii" look fabulous & not too too fat!).
As soon as the Wii Fit transferred her over and I got on the
balance board and it started "measuring", calculating my
weight, the dreaded BMI rating scale shows up and all of a
sudden I hear a ding (like the sound of done microwave popcorn),
it tells me my BMI score and then it blurts out: "That's OBESE!".
hahahaa!!
It was at that magical moment that my Mii instantaneously turned FAT!
LOL! No joke! She was looking around at her body like it was some
sort of a surprise! What a riot!! hahaa

Oh that hilarious Wii Fit. We're getting our moneys worth just laughing!
That burns calories, doesn't it?

My husband Tony (who is not heavy by the way) hadn't been on
it in a month's time. He started up his 'skinny' Mii and suddenly some
text appears: "Well, if it isn't Tony!!". haha It was asking him what
his *reasons* were for gaining a 1lb (it even asked him multiple
choice questions and gave him some "advice" saying that maybe he
should cut down on his portion sizes.

Another funny episode was when I was doing some balancing
game or an aerobic activity and I wanted a friend of mine
to try it ... When she got on the balance board (as me), it actually
got confused - hahahaa! It said, "Hmmm... Your weight is a little
different than last time!". I was thinking, "Thx a LOT!" :blushing:
Even funnier is that when my husband got on the board (as me)
it didn't even sense that there was anyone on there (oh wait - -
until I stepped on it!!). Tony & I were in hysterics for 10 minutes solid.

It will be so nice to get down to a weight where I am not mocked by
technology!! LOL !!!! I guess you gotta have a thick skin. And that I
have! hee hee
But not for long...

Oh...I hate that little thing! It is always getting on to me..."Too busy to exercise last night, heh?" or "Glad you finally made time to exercsie again, Ashley." My hubby thinks it is hilarious. Oh...and my poor little fat Mii. She is just so ashamed of herself. You are right...you had better have a thick skin before you get on that thing. A less secure person would be in a corner crying afer the first five minutes!

I enjoyed your stories and have thought about getting one but didnt know...I have Parkinson's Disease and my physical therapist thought it might also help with my balance----one side of me really drags. That Wii Fit cracks me up too, haha! "That's obese!" Then she blushes bright red :blushing: and acts like she's going to fall over because she just all of a sudden got super fat! Lol. It is cute though. I get those stupid little sayings stuck in my head... :grumble: "measuring.... measuring..." Haha! Gotta love it though!

I'm glad that you can find the humor. My husband bought me a wii because I had been wanting one and I was too fat to use it. It actually said OUCH! So, at least I have a goal of being able to use it by the summer.:explode: I was totally mad at first, but in hind sight that is pretty funny.

I actually would recommend the Wii Fit. The balance board is amazingly accurate and has helped me focus on my shift and balance. There is a fun step aerobics game that you would like too. Some light yoga moves may help you as well. Talk to your doctor and see what he/she recommends but I do think it's worth the money. Make sure that you have adequate floor space though. If you get one, let me know what you think! It's fun (even when it's in it's "insulting" moods!)! :grumble:

I would love to know if you get one, too. My mother has MS and I wonder if she could use something like that. Her balance is awful. Actually, I should get her to come try mine out sometime. If she does, I'll let you guys know.

I too have the Wii Fit and love it! I have done great with it. I love it so much in fact, that between that and a healthier diet, I have lost almost 30 lbs. So for all the skeptics out there, it does work.

I also got a good laugh the first time it showed my Mii in a larger than normal frame. I am looking to the day when it no longer calls me obese, but over weight. Does it say over weight?

I only wish there was an easier way though of claiming Wii Fit exercises on this web site. My husband just bought me an exercise watch which calculates calories burned for me so I use that.

If you have any suggestions or comments about the Wii Fit, I would love to hear them.

There's quote a lot of miis stored on our wii fit and it's always grassing others up for not excersising "oh i haven't seen person A in 7 days" and stuff like that.

Also my wii fit age fluctuates like crazy, one day i'm 21, next i'm 46 and then i'm 22.

I don't use mine for exercise as much since I got My Fitness Coach, but I still use it to weigh myself, since I don't have a scale. My Mii is getting smaller, right along with me! There's much less of her tummy hanging out our her shirt now. The first time it said "I haven't seen RJ (my dh) in awhile", I cracked up laughing. He didn't believe me, so the next time, I took a picture of it with my cell phone and sent it to him!

Okay, I have been debating on purchasing WIi FIt for several reasons. First of all I'd have to buy a Wii first, and even buying used will break my bank. Then the Wii Fit "game" itself would cost an extra 80 some dollars unless I can also find it used. But from everything I've been hearing (and reading) about it it seems like the cost is worth it. I would think the tracking alone would make it a great tool. Looks like I may have to put this on my wish list.

Ooo-Oooh! I got another one. haha!

This last weekend I got on the Wii Fit and it opened up a new game for me.
Free running/jogging. So I figured, "what the heck!".
It's a 10 minute non-stop run. Still out of shape, I was pretty sure I could
    do this.

Here I go.... I start getting up to speed and then found my rhythm. I'm
trekking along and there are Mii characters on the sidelines cheering
me on. Yay! There are also Mii characters running with me and next thing
you know, I see about 3 Mii's in a row - with gray hair and wrinkles -
passing me up!! Haha! I decided to run a bit faster. I see the lighthouse!!
If I could just make it to the lighthouse! Then, right next to me running, is
my Mom's Mii character (she lives in CA and I miss her so much so it
was kinda sweet that they had her there with me on my run). All of a sudden
she TRIPS & FALLS!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!! There was just a cloud of dust.

I was laughing so hard and wanted to stop running right then & call my
Mom but I waited. I finished my run and used the phone call as a reward
for following through. She & I had a good laugh over that one!

    That funny Wii!

Does anyone else find doing push-ups on the wii fit board to be much harder than floor push-ups? I can't do as many!

Oh and a related running story - my fiance was using the running feature and started jogging really fast as he got towards the end to see if he could improve his percentage. Well, HE tripped and fell (well, his mii character). It said he was unsafe going that fast (and passing his "trainer")!
