Its a girl thing. I pay 200.00 plus tip for cut and color every month. And I'm on a tight budget. But my hair is short and there is nothing worse than a screwed up short haircut. No body touches my hair but my guy. He got tied up in a non compete clause when he sold his salon and for two years I had to follow him around to different towns to get my hair cut. I used to drive an hour each way. Then he moved to Southern CA and came back to Reno every 6 weeks to cut my hair. And once I flew down there to have him cut it. Well, I also was visiting a friend. But still....
Thankfully, the non compete thing is resolved and he's back in Reno, but I still pay a ridiculous price for my hairstyle. If he ever gets hit by a bus on his vespa, I'm screwed!

That shampoo better do my dishes, laundry, vacuum my floor, and clean the bathroom all by itself then.

I pay around that for shampoo & conditioner (50 gbp) but it is sulfate free as I have keratin treatment on my hair so cannot use any sulfate products. The keratin treatments cost 200 quid every 4 months so an additional 50 on shampoo/conditioner that lasts 2-3 months is not that big of an expense.

I found that if I use only a little conditioner after I shower (tiny bit) and leave it in then my hair isnt as heavy and I can style it easier. it is fuller. I like to use good shampoo also but have used the dollar stuff by vo5 and it isnt bad either.

I pay a small fortune for shampoo and I don't mind. I'm allergic to almost all fragrances so that limits what I can use. I could get cheaper but that stuff smells like I washed my hair in old coffee grounds. I'm willing to pay for shampoo that doesn't cause me a breakout, works great, and smells nice. I can cut in other areas. But I don't budge on my shampoo.

I hope it also does the dishes and makes dinner.

What brand was it, by the way? I think the most expensive I've purchased outside of Aveda was Molton Brown. Damn, that stuff smells good.

my hair is picky so I have to use Tresemme, which I consider "the expensive stuff"
but if I use anything else, either my hair gets oily or too frizzy. I've tried cheaper shampoo and it just doesn't work...

Dang! I do not spend near that amount lol... I get my hair highlighted every two months for like $50. Otherwise I use Aussie's large $10 bottles of shampoo and conditioner that last all month and then some. I also use Aussie's heat protect product, split end care, and shiner. That all lasts probably 2-3 months. My hair straightener probably cost $30 and the blow dryer about the same. :)

The cheap stuff keeps me happy!

I only shampoo twice a week and I don't use conditioner, so I buy $25 bottles of shampoo. It lasts forever, smells amazing, and does awesome things to my hair. And only shampooing twice a week has done wonders for growth and health too.

You might want to check out Paula's Choice shampoo - all her products are fragrance free. I use her skin care products and the body wash and love them all.

Also - she gives great reviews of shampoos and other makeup/skin care products. I always check her reviews before I buy anything. It has proven super helpful.

I am not sure if this link to her facebook page will work - but under the notes section is a great article about shampoos:

I don't use shampoo either. It used to be biolage or john frieda's sheer blonde. Then switched to live clean. Now its baking soda and water to wash, and diluted Apple cider vinegar rinse. My hair has never been better.

Oooh lovely thank you! I shall check this out! Since having my little girl there are many smells I can no longer tolerate so fragrance free sounds good!
