I locked mine in the car at the courthouse with my 2 year old in the back seat eating mNm's. The police said they couldn't get into my particular car. Man was my face red! Thankfully I had roadside assistance on my phone which was safely inside the car. All is well and my 2 year old was only slightly scarred. (Just kidding on the last part)

LOL My husband just this week lost his keys… and found them at work in his LOCKED desk drawer with the drawer key on the key chain that was locked in the drawer…. did you get all that? He found the keys when he had maintenance unlock his desk after losing the keys!

There were puzzled looks all around.

Locked them in there at work on a cold snowy day, I worked about 25 miles from home. Called the cops, after about a half hour, they still couldn't unlock it. Then one of them tried to open the passenger door... unlocked the whole time.

They still charged me for coming out, boo. :p

A few years ago I went to a local bar with some friends and didn't realize until it was time to leave (about 4 hours later) that I'd locked my keys in the car WITH THE CAR STILL RUNNING. It was still running all those hours later. Luckily, some drunk repo men (who were also hanging out there) helped me out by breaking into my car for me using a coat hanger.

I did that once when I was loading groceries. I had to remove one of the stereo speakers from the shelf between the seat and the rear window...l could just barely reach them.

I had a 98 Ford F150. I put a lot of miles on that truck as I used it for work. On a few occasions I locked the keys in it...you know, just running into a place to make a quick delivery...anyway, I was able to get in thru the sliding glass rear door over the cargo bed and reach the keys. Took me less than 2 minutes each time.

My new truck has keyless entry and I usually leave the keys in the drinkholder or ashtray (I don't smoke). I always know where they are and I can always get in my truck by punching numbers on the keypad.

Sadly I have done that twice. Once was in the bank parking lot, and then the second time was in some lady's front yard (she lived very close to Carter Finley Stadium and did parking for football games).. she knew a guy but it took him a while to get there.. so we were sitting in her garage watching a different game on TV with my car sitting idling in her front yard.

I lost mine in the kitchen closet one morning.
I was running late and ran into the kitchen, keys in hand, to grab a bottle of water, and left them on the shelf. When I went to lock the door, guess what? No keys. -.-
I spent over half an hour emptying out my bag and going through pockets and whatnot before I found them in the kitchen. Short term memory FTW!
  • I don't have a wierd place I've locked my keys but I've accidently put my key in the freezer.
  • i locked mine in my car at a gas station on a saturday evening about six months ago, of course, on an evening where every single locksmith in town was closed. i had a spare key and clicker in my purse (also in my car, along with my cell phone), and another spare 100+ miles from the gas station. i called a friend, who thankfully had AAA, and they were able to come out and unlock my door.
