Hi All,
Ive always struggled to stick with diets, and find after a few weeks I fall back into old bad habits. In 2009 I was at my largest 207lbs. I managed to combined weight watchers with a serious exercise programme to get down to 172lbs (which I was really excited about). But, over the past few years, my laziness has meant Im gain weight again rose to 187lbs
Ive now decided that I need to really change my life style as Im getting older. Things that are hard now will be coming impossible as life gets more complicated. Ive decided to get started by continuing with my weight loss and setting myself challenges. Ive decided that I wanted to combine my need to lose weight and be healthy with a need to do something for the community.
I am now trying to raise £500 ($821.45) for the British Heart Foundation, by being sponsored to drop 3 dress sizes (from UK size 16 to 10 US 14 to by 31th December 2011. My progress will be monitored by the fitness team at my local gym, with monthly updates posted on my sponsorship page.
I'm doing this in memory of my sister who died at age 16 in 2004 after suffering from complications following a heart transplant to treat her Cardiomegaly (enlarged heart).
I started dieting and exercising on the 8th August and setup my JustGiving page. So far, I've lost 9.7lbs and have raised an £470. Just £30 from my target. I feel really motivated this time as Im doing something for myself as well as something to help others. I think the fact that this is very public is for such an important cause means I will do it.
I decided to go for changing body shape rather than weight as I want to be slimmer, healthy, and toned. I want to use a changing body shape and be able to physically do more as a measure of my success, not just how many pounds Ive lost. I know lots of slim but out of shape people. I dont want that.
I use the WW program to help me eat a balanced diet, but find that there isn't enough control or a way to evaluation the nutrition of what I'm eating. I discovered this page and app 2 days ago and love it!!
I'm here for support and to see if anyone else is up for this type of challenge.
Thats it from me

I am doing the same for Make a Wish foundation. I am working at achieving my dream and if I can help a dying child get theirs before they are taken away then it'll be worth the extra work I'll have to put in.
its just trying to make people aware of my challenge and getting them to donate. I only set it up today and really want to get the ball rolling. Any ideas of how I can publicise it?0 -
That is such a lovely thing to do. I hope you exceed your fund raising goal.0

What a wonderful idea. I have four little siblings who suffer from physical, emotional and developmental issues, so anytime someone is out there trying to raise money and awareness for a medical issue I have great respect for them. And in the end not only will you be helping a great cause, but be a much healthier and happier person. Good job on your first nine pounds and good luck with the rest. You can definitely do it with your positive attitude. If you want some more friends for support feel free to friend me. I have really changed the way I live my life the last few months and am down 32lbs. I found this site a few days ago and since I have some way to go still I thought I'd try it. So far I'm loving all the support from total strangers, but strangers who totally understand the struggles that I am facing.0
