I wanted to share, because I am quite excited, and because I thought it illustrates that this programme WORKS...
...and I am usually the worst dieter, quit before I see a pound gone, and am very good at indulging...
I weighed in today, and 5 lbs are gone after the first week! I knew I felt quite a bit better, but 5 lbs! I know I might not see anything next week after 5 this week, but it's very motivating!!!

Thanks to everyone for the support! We can do this!

Great for you!!! This past week was my first week also and I love this site! As of yesterday morning I too had dropped five pounds but the weekend eating caught up with me as I weighed myself this morning. Still though three pounds are gone. Just goes to show how quickly the wrong foods can increase the numbers.
Hope everyone has a happy and healthy week!!!0 -
Oh that is sooooooooooooo awesome! You should be doing a serious happy dance. Go treat yourself to a new book or CD or something! I get weighted tomorrow and hope I can make the scale move a little too.

Hi Sonia... Here's what I do...
- My goal is 2lbs a week (on the "settings)
- I do some form of exercise each day (I have two babies under 3, so sometimes exercise consists of a stroller walk, taboganning, shovelling snow, a quick run on the treadmill during naps, yoga etc).
- I've stuck to eating the calories allowed, and I plan the day ahead of time to make sure I can eat every 3 hours, without going over my calories
- I've bought some low cals snacks like those Jello 5 cal cups, Orville 100 cal popcorn bags, and diet coke (the old me who have NEVER bought such chemical junk - we are typically organic eaters- but I feel I need some little treats to get through this - I just don't let the kids eat it)
- I've been drinking lots of water, lots of green and other herbal teas, and I've been taking chrominum - 100 mcg with each meal - I see a naturopathic doctor, and she recommended that to help with my sugar cravings, and it compeltely ridded me of them!
- I go to bed hungry every night - but as Oprah's pal Bob Greene says, "you have to go to bed hungry one night for every night that you went to bed full" :grumble:
- my meals are the usual healthy fare - lean meats, veggies, fruits, whole grains, with some treats here and there (this week I had a Starbucks soy latte, a small piece of cake, and a burger with a handful of fries :blushing: )
Any other tips out there to share?... and great quick meals or snacks?0 -
Thanks AJCM.....
OMG We are so similar!! I though for at moment that you were talking about me:laugh:
So the secret is not only eat healthy.... is eating every 3 hours, up to how many times a day?
I have 2 kids under 4 too and when ever they let me i do some exercise at home..
I practice Yoga Vinyasa 2 times a week(3 hours) And I love IT!!!
But my weight is not going down easily:sad:
Any way, I'm going now to see if the scale make me happy:noway:
Peace&Love

That is great!! It is all about it becoming a routine. Before long, you won't be hungry at night anymore.
I personally try to incorporate plenty of fiber that will sustain me longer and one thing I try to have around if I am having one of those "hungry all day" things is Swiss Miss Diet Cocoa. I will use two packets to have a big mug full. One packet is 25 calories so 2 is obviously 50. I will have that an hour or two before bed to keep me from having that "cavernous stomach" feeling all night. Or, if you don't like cocoa, then a cup of herbal tea can help too.0
