Hey ladies TMI I know but I need some help with something
My TOM is 8 days late and I need to sort of know how much excercise would put off a period?
I've tried researching but it doesn't really give me much of an answer besides that I'm more active,
So my question is does it happen to you? And if it has how long does it get put off by?

Exercise doesn't affect me. If this continues, go see your doctor.0

It can affect it. If you start a semi vigorous-vigorous routine, it may stop altogether.0

I'm not a lady, but you might also consider pregnancy.

Mine does it every month while loosing weight I can be one to two days early one month and 10 days over the next. Unless you think you could've pregnant , it should sort its self out. Otherwise have a chat to your dr.0

This hasnt happened to me directly, but I have a friend that has started working out and she was on time, but she has only been having 2 day toms for the last couple months, so I do think there may be a connection..but havent heard much on it elsewhere...I would definitely call the doctor to get their thoughts on it..good luck!0

I'd go pee on a stick and eliminate that possibility first. You'd probably have to go pretty hard core to disrupt your cycle with exercise if you aren't historically irregular.

I've read a lot on health forum sites and they say it can disrupt it, just didn't know exactly how long0 -
Years ago when I used to run 8-10 miles a day mine completely stopped. I did go to the Dr about it since I wanted to have a baby (our 3rd)...I had to cut way back on my running and it took about 5 months before I got back to "normal".

Are you on birth control? Over time, birth control can make periods decrease or stop all together.0

Sometimes when you loose weight to fast it might take your period time to re-adjust. ( My friend had this problem. )0

Happened to me when I started lifting.. my dr had me track it and it eventually returned to normal. I'd say track it and see what happens but def give your gyno a heads up (oh and pee on a stick.. you never know.)0

yes it can.. I went from having very heavy and long lasting periods to nearly non existent periods.. I LOVE IT LOL0

I think everyone is going to have a different experience.
If it doesn't turn up soon, I would go to a doctor to make sure there is no reason other than exercise to cause this change.0 -

I was having them every 9 days lasting 7 days and heavy to now a long time in between

I just had a baby 4 months ago and when I was one day late I was preg, but it is a possibility that its late due to working out. I workout 2 hours a day and I'm like a clock. All people bodies work differently.0

Rapid weight loss can affect hormone levels thus disrupting the monthly cycle. I find when my iron stores are low it impacts that area too. Dried apricots and iron rich foods usually help. All the best!0

Personally, when I started working out hard i skipped about 3 months... and then when i got it, it was light for about a day then stopped and would come back light again a week later for about 2 days......that happend for 2 months...0

It depends on your body. A diet and exercise routine can affect your hormone levels, which would obviously affect your menstrual cycle. But, since every woman is different there is no way to tell how your body will be affected. There is no average. Your best bet would be to see your doctor to figure out if there is something abnormal going on.0

When I first started exercising and cutting down on intake in July, I had some issues with my menstruation as well. Mine comes on the same day every month like clockwork so when it skipped I knew something was wrong. I didn't freak out about it, but I toned it down with the intensity and number of workouts and it came back. It was a lighter cycle than usual when it came back, but after that it was all back to normal.0

I lost 5 kg rapidly and it stopped for 5 months. It came back though.0

Mine are suddenly much lighter and shorter and no where near same amount of water going on each month as I used to get, they also sometimes come a bit early but still having them.
I've read they can stop if you've been exercising very vigorously.0 -

Ladies, do you not lose on your period? I hanvt lost anything this week, do you up your calories? I have been much more hungry too.. which obviously could explain lack of weight lose even though Im eating close to the guidline.0 -

My period has gotten irregular ever since I stepped up my exercise routine (3x per week to 6x per week and 2 a day once a week). Its back on schedule but it's ultra light now. My mom (BSN, RN) said it was my working out. I"m gonna check with my obgyn. And no I'm not preggers either (god I hope not :indifferent: )0 -
You are completely normal... Wen u exercise alot it can cause u 2 stop for a short time. It could mean u need to back of some. If you worry enough u can ask a dr. It might be that u need to c a dr just to b on the safe side, however it can b very common.....0

I gain during my period and then the next week I'm back to normal. It's from the bloat and extra eating to keep my stomach at bay. I don't up my cals but if I go over I don't worry about it because I know I'll go back to normal after the first 3 days or so.0 -
i havent had my period in about 6 months and im perfectly healthy, it happens! be thankful! haha0
