When I try to only drink water I have a problem with getting dry mouth. That sounds really silly since I'm drinking water but after so long my mouth is so dry and I have to get something else to drink. I don't drink the water packets that stores carry 'cause I personally don't enjoy them. But is getting a dry mouth while drinking a lot of water even normal?

  • i get the same thing!
Do u drink much water in general?
Because if you are like me and don't, you're probably dehydrated and now that you are drinking water, your body is going thriving for more and more water because it needs it!!
I have started drinking a min of 2 Litres a day for the last week and my dry mouth is going :0)
    Hope that made sense lol

Yes, I get this when I'm not drinking enough water too.

Not sure what you mean by water packets but I tend to drink it out of the tap, machine at work/gym or bottles purchased from the shop.

I had the same thing at the initial start, but through healthier eating and leading a much more active lifestyle, I also drink around 4 litresof water a day I am fine. Now I crave water more than any other fluid!

The dry mouth feeling will go away once your body adapts to the water its probably craving sugar drinks that you are use too. Water isnt the only solution cut back on sodium and sugar and that dry mouth should go away.

Just get more fluids, from any source. It doesn't have to be neat water. Tea/Coffee/juice/soda/milk/fruit/veg, all hydrate you and should be counted towards your daily water intake.

I get the same feeling, and I just drink even more water and it goes away.

If I don't drink anything else, I can drink up to three quarts in a day. Most days I just drink two.

However, when I drink coffee and pop, I only end up drinking one quart in a day, and then wonder why my pee gets dark and my skin feels rough. I used to think that they are mostly water, and therefore should count toward my water consumption, but I no longer go with that, because of the way my body responds to it.

Give it a chance, and keep drinking water! I find it is easier for me to drink if I have a water bottle with a straw. I also enjoy filtered water because it tastes better than straight tap, but I'll go for whatever I can.

The problem isn't with the drinks, it's the fact you don't drink as much of it.
