What's a simple drink I can order that won't break the calorie bank and isn't beer? I'm only going to get one! It's a pub kind of place, so they don't have a "skinny" selection or too many mixed drinks. Also, I really don't know much about alcohol besides 1) vodka exists and 2) beer tastes like old bread, so pretty much any ideas will help! I do know that I need a drink after today though haha

-get a glass of wine and sip it slowly
- a liquor drink with soda - vodka sodas are my favorite and then add limes ....any pub type place can do this, trust me....oh and by soda i mean soda water, not cola.0 -
flavored vodka & diet or regular sprite.0
-
water.....Then you will be good to drive home too.0
-
cosmo, light liquor with diet soda, splizer, moijo....0

Don't feel like you have to get something with alcohol in it. It's perfectly acceptable to hang out without it if you don't like it in the first place0
-
vodka, tonic, and a splash of cranberry juice:)0

I've seen many a great idea for low-cal alcohol mixes in past threads. Don't miss out on that vast wealth of knowledge! You can access it by using the "Search" link just above this thread. I would search for the word "alcohol". Best wishes! :flowerforyou:0

Exactly what I was going to suggest. Ketel One mixes really well with soda water (although it's easy to suck those down quickly so be careful!).0 -
You should be able to get diet cola and rum at just about any place. That's my go-to drink. A friend prefers it with vodka instead of rum.0

captain morgans and diet coke.0

Here are some lower calorie drinks I get when I go out:
* Gin or Vodka and Tonic
* Wine Spritzer (half wine, half soda water)
* Vodka or rum of choice with diet coke
* small glass of wine
Not big on beer either for the most part, so these are the kinds of drinks I usually order unless I am splurging drinkwise.0 -

OR
:drinker:
Try a vodka with diet cranberry juice and a splash of soda water0 -
After you have your one drink ask for a seltzer and lime wedge. No calories in the plain seltzer water and it's kinda fun to drink (IMO). Have fun!0

Oh, and OP: beer does not taste like old bread, tyvm. I have nothing helpful to say.0 -
diet coke by itself lol..
red wine/rose the highest volume of liquid for the lowest number of calories i have found.. the only brand of aclohol which includes calories on their product is carling, so i tend to drink that even though it is not that nice.. and my brother emailed southern comfort and they sent him back all the nutritional details.
little bit of preplanning you should be fine though remember alcohol tends to reduce inhibitions and for me that would be a bit probleamatic as i have no impulse control lol.0 -
It is disgusting but a Ultra Michelob light. It's only 95 calories.0

You look too young too drink, so go with water and get either a slice of lemon r lime your choice, hahahaha...0 -
Bud Select 55 or Miller 64 if you like beer. Very low on calories.0
-
Tonic and Lime.0

A group of friends and myself go to a different restaurant for happy hour every week.
Ask for a martini on the rocks in a regular glass...it will last longer and you still get (mostly) the same taste....
My drink of choice is a bombay sapphire gin + tonic w/lime.0 -

Question: Why would you drink something that tastes disgusting?
Is it really worth the 40 calories you're going to save?
Hint: It's not.0 -
Honestly... a drink or two is not going to completely derail your diet. Enjoy yourself, have a few drinks and don't worry about the calorie counting for a night.0
-
Be careful with tonic -- it's pretty high calorie, because it's high in sugar (even though it doesn't taste all that sweet)!
If you don't want to drink, get a diet 7up and ask them to put a lime in it -- it's a good camouflage drink.0 -
I will second this as well. This is my staple drink, Vodka, Soda Water & Lime. It's the lowest possibly calorie drink you can get. I'm a lap-band success story, 130lbs lost and holding strong four years out. For dieting, high calorie beverages lead to failure, that's why I've really stuck with this one when I go out. It's served me well!0

I think you should try a tasty Long Island Iced Tea, or perhaps an Adios Mother****er.
I hear they are fantastic.
Also anything with the word "Bomb" in the title is a great way to break yourself in.0 -
barardi n diet coke, vodka n sprite or sierra mist are my go to's.
I'd skip the low low cal beers, they taste like water with a splash of beer.
I personally can't stand tonic water.
Nothing wrong with treating yourself to a beverage :drinker:0 -
wine spritzer with soda water....dilutes it a little and makes it a little fizzy.0
-
I like a vodka tonic. Or vodka and diet.0
-
Oops, didn't think of searching previous posts for suggestions. I'm having a kind of "dumb day" (which is why I need the drink!) but I'll keep that in mind next time. Thanks!
As for everyone else, you guys are fantastic! I really appreciate the recommendations--so far I'm leaning towards the vodka soda with lime.0
