Not to sound silly.. but I have tried losing my weight time and time again.. with a trainer.. with diets.. I will lose a bit then gain it back.
I find this all too easy.. so convenient to track over the computer and via mobile..! I go to classes a few times a week (HIGH intensity) and my trainer said that her classes burn 800-900 cals and to make sure that I eat back my exercise calories.. It has been SUCH a struggle to eat more.. eat more and weigh less?
I've only been doing this for 2 weeks or so but my pants feel so much better.. ALREADY.. is this the secret? Simply tracking what I eat? Calories in and calories out?
I hope this helps me reset my metabolism... and I hope that this is the missing puzzle piece!

Seams awful simple don't it. :noway:0

I never achieved success until I started food journaling, and eventually finding MFP later. Yup, the whole calories in/calories out formula works wonders!0

Holy moly - you have lost A LOT.. It is almost as much as I weighed in my university days!
It is just SO hard to eat those exercise cals.. My mother raised me with the old school garden salad, tuna and cottage cheese mentality...
I'm loving this!!! And am so excited to see what is to come.. but yes.. feels too easy!!
I tried Weight Watchers before but the points felt even more like a chore than this..0 -
This is IT! The simple act of journaling my food has allowed me to see what impact my food choices have. It helped that I was in the right frame of mind for it but finding MFP has allowed me an easy way to track and lose weigh!
Best of luck! :flowerforyou:0 -
Simple is always best.0

73lbs!! WOW!! Congrats!! Do you just eat what you want in moderation or do you eat certain foods?0

wow 50!!0

My trainer/class instructor told me to only weigh myself once a month.. that will be my next obstacle!0

Yup, that's it! I'm a lousy mfp-er (I only journal breakfast and lunch usually), but even that little bit keeps me on track, and it's the only way I've ever lost weight. It's slow, but it's steady.0

Thanks! I eat whatever the heck I want but in moderation. When we started my husband was battling with diabetes so he ate lower carbs but after a few months his numbers are fine and his doctor told him he could eat more again but just to watch his sugar levels. So far so good. The only thing I don't eat is chocolate candy because it's a trigger for me. I can handle brownies, cookies, ice cream, etc but not a hershey bar. I can have a couple of cookies and be fine but one candy bar and the next thing I know a pound of chocolate is gone. :noway:
When I started logging everything I found some foods aren't worth it but those that I really want I just make fit into my calories and macros.0 -
Exciting isn't it!!!0

I KNOW....It is easy and makes sense. Trying to explain to some people though, they just dont get it LOL Welcome!!0

What's more, research shows that you'll lose weight simply from logging your calories, even if you aren't consciously trying to change your diet. Just being aware of what you are eating is half the battle.0

Calories in and calories out. That's why I still eat junk food in moderation and don't gain weight (and yes I'm very healthy).

Yes, it works. Count calories, eat a moderate amount, do a bit of exercise... then repeat that every day!
Of course, you have to keep at it, and that isn't always easy, but it works!0 -
It is that simple, until someone asks you how you lost all the weight. Then your saying, "I ate less [and maybe exercised]," seems too simple and people won't buy it. Glad you've figured out the not-so-secret "secret." :happy:0

There is certainly a strong accountability factor with it. It is so funny to see how much your mind can have an effect on your outcomes!! Even if no one reads my food diary, I will think "do I REALLY want to put that chocolate cake on there...." nooope...
That's not to say that I don't enjoy myself. I am a girl who loves to EAT!! AND I CAN!!! My biggest problem is honestly alcohol. :noway: I'm in grad school so drinking beer and wine at a weekly get together with my girls is a MUST! I am just particularly careful with my food choices those days.
But good job to you! I wish you continued success :drinker:0 -
Eat errthang girl.
It truly works. lol0
