.. and need your help.

Please can anyone give me any advice as to lower calorie foods to pick please?

I know I am probably going to go over my calorie allowance, but I thought it might help a bit if I chose the lower fat options. I know Chicken Tikka peices and Tandorri Chicken are supposed to be a good choice, but any other tips.

I was thinking of having

Chicken tikka peices (starter)
Boiled rice
Tarka dahl (half a portion)

and maybe a sneeky poppadom!

Your very best choices are on the vegetarian menu, Indian food is loaded with spices (speed up metabolism), chick peas (protein and fiber), beans (same), lentils (lots of protein), and other good stuff. For us veggie folk Indian restaurants are heaven on earth

Also, whatever you get, get as spicy as you like. Hot food usually contains capsaicin which speeds up your metabolism. I usually get crazy-spicy-makes-you-cry stuff! Also drink tea before and after your meal with water.

Also, try to stick to the steamed dishes. Traditional curries are usually pretty safe choices as well :)

The biggest thing to watch out for is how much rice you eat. I know when I go I usually end up eating at least two cups worth of rice which is not so good

I posted the same things yesterday! isnt that funny.

i ended up passing because the cal counts seemed to be high.

Can you get grilled seasoned chicken kabobs with curry rice, sauce on side?

I know I was thinking should I go but then thought 'life is too short!' and if I'm gonna stick to this healthy lifestyle for good then I'm gonna have some fun whilst I'm doing it!!

Thanks.... so if I go for anything grilled, steamed and veggie I'll be being good  got to be a lot better than my old favorite - chicken tikka massala, mushroom rice and a whole naan!!! which was full or fat and billions of calories :noway: no wonder I piled on the pounds!!

Sounds yummy! When you place your order, ask your server to bring you a take out carrier when your meal is served. Cut your portion and put half of it aside to start with. That way your good intentions of only eating half don't get sabatoged. Also - drink plenty of water before and with your meal.
