I find that sometimes, people on MFP comment on other people's daily calorie results without looking at the diary (if the diary is open).

I've noticed that lots of people will say "great job at staying under" or "good for you" but the person they're saying that to may have had 3 donuts for breakfast and ate nothing else during the day,or had an excessively large amount of sodium or had a soft drink for breakfast.

Shouldn't we all hold each other accountable for the actions we take?

It annoys me to see that. Personally I don't comment unless I actually looked at the diary but a lot of people just see that the person stayed under calorie goal and says good job without actually seeing what they eat. That's why there's so many "good jobs" to eating three donuts throughout the whole day or only eat 300 calories. I wish people would start looking at the diary first. For all those young girls who are starving themselves, somebody saying good job to them eating 300 calories is NOT HELPING them.

I don't hold anyone accountable unless asked. I figure if they're honestly logging what they've eaten then that's a step in the right direction. My diary is open and some days I make good choices and somedays I make not so good choices and if any of my friends were to get too pushy about it then they wouldn't be my friends. Sometimes we'll ask each other about something we've had to eat during the day and that sort of thing but I'm not here to pass judgement on anyone else (unless they request a critique).

I always look before I comment and if the person is not eating well I do not comment or ask them if they are not feeling well. I have dropped folks who consistently posted poor diaries.

I do look at diaries that are open btw, but I don't "good job" them if they're hugely over or under.

Sorry, Yes I mean the people that say "good job" even though we do know that its not the best food choices for the day.

I have my diary closed to the public. I am thinking of opening it to friends only. My way of thinking has always been "What I eat is non of your business." LOL but I see the benefits in opening. I do eat pretty healthy but yeah. I just talked about this on my status message earlier.

I will post good job if they are eating pretty good, but I don't think some people really pay attention I think some people just see "Under calorie intake" and say "Good job".
