Some days I do sooo well because my hunger is normal...It's all good. BUT THEN I have days when I just feel soooooo HUNGRY and it's like NOTHING satisfies me. How do YOU deal with those days?

Everything. I just eat. I figure there must be a reason I'm so hungry.

Sadly, it typically ain't vegetables. (Even though I really love veggies.)

If I have it around, I'll eat a metric ton of oatmeal.

I eat frozen fruit........... lots of frozen fruit. I measure it out and am accountable for it, but it takes a long time to eat, so I feel satisfied!

Also, I cut up my meals into small pieces and graze. All. Day.

Carrots are very filling and low calorie. Hummus isn't too bad on them either, BUT, I have to portion the hummus out first or else I'll just want to eat the whole bowl with the carrots. It's definitely my safe go to snack when I feel like I'm starving to death or tempted be high calorie foods. Even if I hadn't planned to eat them that day, if I go over on my calories a little, I'm still WAY better off than if I indulge on something that I just want because I'm craving or starving.

I used to be indiscriminate, and just binge to all get out.

Now I focus on items which don't impact my progress.
Lots of radishes, celery for crunch, or pickles for salt.
All taken with LOTS of water.

Plus - I take myself out of the house to the gym and bike or sauna.

This is a great tip, but sometimes it is hard to know when you'll have one of those days. I avoid keeping "junky" snacks in the house. That way, when I do start eating like a monster it is on veggies, dark chocolate, wasa light rye crisps, weight watchers string cheese, and the like instead of candy, potato chips, etc.

Protein will help you feel full. Usually I'll have a protein shake or power bar then go for an intense workout. Workouts always curb my hunger.

If I'm like that, I'll eat what I want AFTER eating an apple. That helps curb the cheat food amounts.

Or instead of chips or sweets, I'll eat a big bowl of air popped popcorn w/ olive oil and salt. Not the greatest snack bu relative to the chips I'd eat they are.

I eat baby carrots and scoop up some salsa with them, gets the salt craving taken care of! On my days that I am trying to just stick to my guns, I follow the rule that every snack has to be under 100, and 2 glasses of water in between everything I eat. Helps a little! Good luck!

That's a good idea. I have heard that a good rule of thumb is "If you aren't hungry enough to eat an apple, then you aren't really hungry."

I need to remember that one. And keep some apples on hand.

This happens to me after every work out. I try to stick to raw veggies or a bag of low cal. popcorn. A lot of bang for the caloric buck wih the popcorn.

After a workout, I'll drink a whey protein shake (powder+banana + almond milk + ice). Not to really curb appetitie but to make sure I get enough protein for recovery etc... But it does help with the cravings.

It really does taste just like a chocolate milk shake. Gold standard whey milk chocolate

Lately I have had this time a lot....
So I try to keep popcorn on hand, it seems to satisfy ...
But then there's the times when I just cant keep my blood sugars up, and I have to have proteins
So I usually keep a grilled chicken breast available ...

It's been a lot easier now that hubby is on board with the weight loss train. We don't have any more junk in the pantry, so i usually go to popcorn, fruit, string cheese, a protein bar (like Luna), nuts, greek yogurt, or a bite of dark chocolate if I'm feeling the need for sugar.

Thanks guys! I think I needed protein...I snacked on applesauce and carrots, etc, but I felt better after eating some chicken and veggies.

I love eating greek yogurt when I'm starving, but I usually pair it with a carb too, like an apple or a pear. Then I just make my next meal a bit smaller than planned.

I have a protein shake. I cant drink chocolate milk becuase im lactose intolerant so this is the best thing and as its the closest thing I can get to a chocolate milkshake it tastes pretty darn delicious!
