I'm getting thinner but squishy...help!

Hey guys,

I am FINALLY starting to lose a little weight! AWESOME! BUT...I carry most of my weight in my lower body. I figure doing strength training is what I need, but what should I be doing? I'm glad that I'm losing weight and all, but I do NOT want to be squishy. lol When I was fatter, I was tighter. Weird. My butt was a solid hunk, but now it's getting all soft. :(
Am I losing muscle or something? What's going on? How can I fix this?
How can I tighten it all back up again? Mostly my butt and thighs. My tummy's been squishy for a while. Lol along with my muffin top. but anyway...HELP! lol
