I would like to know your thoughts: What brand do you have? What do you like or don't like about it?

I have a Faema machine and a Faema coffee grinder. I like the convenience of making different types of coffee, and I love coffee, so buying one was a no brainer. i would buy the best one you can afford, most are not worth the money.

    ^^This^^

It's next to impossible to get a quality espresso machine without spending a LOT of money. I use a moka pot. While it isn't technically espresso, it's comparable to most home machines (except those that cost hundreds of dollars).

I have a Starbucks Barista, it is about 4 years old and stays in the box most of the time...but works great when I get it out.

I have a Nespresso Citiz & Milk - it was pretty pricey but I was able to get a deal by buying from Macy's with a friends&family coupon. I love it! Use it every morning to make a latte. The aeroccino that comes with it that steams/froths milk is wonderful and works very quickly. I definitely think it was worth the price and would recommend to anyone! The only negative thing is that you need to buy capsules directly from nespresso and they run about 0.50 each.

I have a Nespresso machine as well. I LOVE it! It makes great tasting espresso and it's really easy to use. The only thing I don't like is that I can't buy the capsules at a store.

I want one, but can't afford it. I worked as a barista for a while and I loved it!
  • OOOOOOOH i would love one... but i can't imagine me on espresso every day. I just got a keurig for christmas last year and it's awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwesome.

espresso machine is the next big thing i want, but i'm pretty sure BF will say "oh hell no, no espresso for THAT girl" to that.

haha. Espresso is not that bad. It's concentrated coffee, so you'll drink less (hopefully) :D The fun comes in making the foam for cappuccinos and steamed milk for lattes. Hot chocolate is best when you use steamed milk. :drinker:

I did have a duo coffee and espresso machine that worked like a charm for a few years. I do not remember the name but it took a lot of space up.

My wife ordered me a Keurig K cup machine so i would toss the old one and she could get some counter space back. I have tossed it and not looked back. The cups are a little pricy but I do not have the mess/waste of excess coffee and the variety is great. I really like the Caribou brand cappuccino cups and the Dark Magic ones are like espresso.

Here is the machine we have.

I just bought a Nespresso Latissima+, it was about $400 but I really love the quality of the coffee, I have it at least twice a day! :)

I don't know the brand... "Lil" something. It was a gift years and years ago. Makes great cappuccino and lattes. Pain in the keester to clean though. I use fine ground coffee (any flavor or brand) and add some vanilla extract to the "pot" before brewing. Skim milk actually makes the best froth.

I have a Mr. Coffee machine. It is ok. The espresso is good. The milk steamer is a b!tch to clean. It sort of makes the milk hot and bubbly, but honestly, sometimes I think I could just microwave the milk and then blow bubbles in it and get a better result.

We actually are glad to go to Sbux to get someone else to make our fancy coffee for us.

    Espresso Maker: Rancillio Silvia
    Grinder: Rocky Doser

A double boiler would be the way to go if I had to do it again. The grinder is also an important, and often overlooked, aspect of making a good shot. Buy good beans as well.

Some of the electric milk frothers actually make a better foam than the steamer. It also saves time if you are making more than one cup.

I've got a DeLonghi full automatic at home and I love it! But it's very very very pricey.

I actually work in the design and production of espresso machines and right now my favorite machine (even though I'm not involved in it) is the Nespresso Pixie. Overall a well designed and good quality machine.
