Curious to know what you guys have to say about smoothies. Hubby and I tried tropical smoothie in Florida and the best they can come up with is one made with splenda and a large sized one is about 270 calories. I dont like splenda, so Im looking for other options when Im out running around. I dont always have the choice of making one at home (altho I do when I can).
Are there other places that offer good ones? Who has the healthiest, low cal smoothie option without making it at home?

When I go to juice it up I just say exactly what I want in it, I literally tell them the fruits and then with non fat yogurt and maybe a juice. That way I know exactly whats in it, I don't know if they will do that everywhere but juice it up does. Hope that helps!

I get the triple berry smoothie mix from yoplait (buy it at Costco). You add milk (I add banana too). Without banana it is 140 cals. With its about 220 cals. I add some fiber & protein powder if I am gonna work out and blender away............ yum yum yum....I love it.
Try it out. A pack of 10 is $11.99

I make my own or I get the ones at jamba juice that are only fruit no frozen yogurt etc. Smoothies are not exactly low cal unless you make them yourself with fruit and water and ice.
sassiebritches has a good idea with the yoplait ones and walmart has preportioned fruit too. The preportioned ones are great for my kids, its one bag of the fruit and 1/2 cup of their choice of liquid (usually non fat milk to maike it creamy) and it comes out to exactly 12 oz, don't know the calories though0 -
i know the OP is looking for smoothies out of the house, but... i make my own at home.. and I take fat free milk and freeze it in ice cube trays... then i use a few cubes of that instead of ice (creamier), fruit of my choice, protein power, and a splash of non-frozen fat free milk... I prefer the frozen FF milk over ice cubes because it doesnt get watery as it melts. the cube trays I use make each cube of milk like 7 calories, so i use 3-4, some fruit, etc and it is a low cal, but yummy smoothie0
