I got a $20 voucher for Whole Foods and I have never shopped there really. I have been in there and I know kinda what they are about but I have not actually shopped there. I am going tomorrow to use the voucher and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what I should get. What is your favorite thing there? Maybe something you can't get anywhere else, or something that is really low calorie but very good...I don't know, whatever! LOL

    I adore Whole Foods.
Great fresh organic produce! Some favorites:
    Kale chips
    Vegan Jerky
    Bulk section (lentils, beans, etc)
Freshly ground peanut butter (you grind it yourself- no added oils/sugars or salts!)
    Meatless products

I pretty much love everything about that store (except for the prices =/)

depending what wholefoods you go to you can get a whole bunch of different things.

my absolute fav is their sushi bars - they do these great carb-less ricepaper wraps with really fresh sashimi inside - so low calorie, filling and delicious...

they also have rice paper rolls with a AMAZING peanut sauce which I'm sure is very bad for you but is AMAZNG!!!

their salad bars are fabulous and fresh, and they have great produce in their deli section - great grilled fish, chicken, vegetarian options...

    I LOVE WHOELFOODS!

They have a dipping sauce in the vegetable isle called Dijon wasabi sauce and it will clear your nose right up! So good with pretzels!

their produce is great. Some things i cant really find anywhere else
    -blue sky stevia soda
-rice dream rice milk ice cream
    -tea tree tooth pics
    -organic/vegan frozen items

Pretty much everything like produce/meats/cheeses have been fantastic.

oh wow, someone else that loves those? i keep them in my car- they are perfect for like wen that appt went waaay too long or stuck in traffic and you're starting to wonder if you can make it home to eat....it's such a different taste that it gives your taste buds something to do until you get home to your (long delayed) nice planned meal.

OP- whole foods is wonderful!! give yourself a good block of time to explore all they offer. so much goodness all in one place....

I probably got the same voucher as you. My $20 got me:

    1. a large bag of frozen local strawberries ($10) and
    2. two pounds heirloom tomatoes ($4.99 per lb - sale price).

    I recommend both greatly.

For many staples that you can get elsewhere, Whole Foods is not worth it, IMO.

My favorite thing to do is to go there to lunch and to treat myself to sushi, gelato, and green tea. The meal usually comes to around $20, so I say give yourself a delicious healthy lunch one day this week :)

Often they will have various fruits and veggies set up to try before you buy. If you are unsure about something ask one of the stock people to cut something up for you to taste. They have always been agreeable to me. Love, love, love the seafood counter too.

Ok I was typing an update and my computer totally wigged out and lost it! So here I go again. I got a Yoga mat! I have been wanting one and they had a really cute one I liked. I got some other stuff to. I got the tea tree oil tooth picks for my husband cause he is trying to quit smoking and it said that it might help. I also got him some gum that says it is supposed to help relieve stress. The box looks like cigarettes which I thought was funny. I also got me some gum that has an ingredient to help promote healthy teeth and gums since I have issues with that. I was also able to find a type of Tabasco that my husband loves but our other stores don't carry anymore! And finally I got something that was the reason I got the voucher to begin with. I don't know if any of you have heard of the "miracle noodle" but it has 0 calories and people seem to either love it or hate it. I wanted to try it and whole foods has it. But they only had 2 kinds and they were flavored and looked god awful! I got some that are similar, they only have 20 calories per serving. I guess I will see if I like them or not soon! :) They were called tofu shirataki. If you have tried them let us know what you thought and any tips in preparing them. I have been in there before and tried some of the cooked food from the bars but I did not remember how nice it is in there. It smells so good and everything looks so nice. The flowers are beautiful and the produce section looks amazing. I spent some time on the incense and perfume isle cause it smelled SOOOOOO good! There was this coco scent that was to die for! Anyway, I loved the experience and will for sure go back if not only to get that hot sauce!

Glad to see you enjoyed your "shopping spree!" Whole Foods has an awesome ice cream called Arctic Zero -- a pint is 150cals only! So worth trying.
Also, wholefoods.com has a coupons page that can save your wallet the next time you go!

just tried the mat and I am sad to say that it did not work for me...I don't know if I am doing something wrong but I kept sliding bad..my hands and feet would not stay planted at all...I had to throw it aside and just stick to the carpet. :( does anyone know if they will let me return it?
