A good Monday morning to you! I am back after spending the weekend at a church women's retreat. Had a great time and went on a really long walk around the grounds with my daughter and friends. Now I'm tired!
I have a busy week - playing in a band concert tonight, keeping score at a volleyball match tomorrow followed by rushing to a meeting, bell choir and choir practice on Wednesday, band rehearsal on Thursday, and Friday leaving for the weekend for our annual family fall campout, the last of the season. Not sure when I am going to pack though! Maybe if I didn't have to go to work??
Exercise? Well, I am doing a little bit better. I am at least walking a couple of days a week now rather than none, so that is a start. Still struggling to find time, but I am not quite so discouraged about it, since I have managed a start!
Tammy - good luck with the elliptical. Sounds like a great purchase! And Katie - hang in there on the running. I think that you are an exercise machine!
Have a great Monday!0 -
Good Morning,
It's been a busy week so far. Thanksgiving for us was on Monday so it's been a short week but busy nonetheless.
It sounds like you have a crazy week ahead of you. Have a great time camping
I don't really think I'm an exercise machine - I've just been trying to get more done. It's the only way I've been able to keep the weight somewhat off because my eating habits are definitely not in check right now.
Tammy - great job with the elliptical . Let us know how it goes.0 -
Still feel like I am running every minute, but wanted to share a link that I found that kind of helps with my weighing every day obsession.

Hope you all are doing fine!0 -
I'm back! We had a great weekend camping. The weather was beautiful fall in Kansas - cool crisp mornings and evenings, and warmer in the afternoon. Just a touch windy, but for Kansas, not bad. I'm kind of sad to put away our camping gear for the year. Today, I am trying to jump back into my routine. I have a plan and my food is logged for the day. My exercise plan will be to work around the house, and take my dog for a walk tonight.
It is Monday, and a new week full of new opportunities. What is your plan for the day?0 -
Welcome back. I'm glad to hear you had a good weekend. I was in a tournament all weekend and the weather was horrible. We had high winds, rain, and cold - it was not pleasant.
How was your exercise plan for the week turn out?
My week has been a very long week but it's been decent. I haven't done as much exercise as I wanted to this week but I will try to up that next week. I started a detox (where you just add drops to your water) on Monday and I'm hoping it'll help with how I've been feeling lately. My plan for the next week is to start logging my food again - I've been failing in that area
I hope you have a great weekend!0 -
I have done pretty well with my exercise. Nothing strenuous, but I have logged 105 minutes this week, so I think that I am starting to vamp it back up. Hope your detox makes you feel great! As always, I have a busy week planned.
It's funny - you are better at exercising consistently, and I am better at logging my food. If we could meld our minds, we could make a skinny person together!
Have a great weekend!0 -
That's great for vamping up your exercise.
I didn't bother logging my food yesterday because it was my friend's convocation and her family just fed you everything. I know I went over on my calories but I didn't want to miss out on the celebrations.0 -
I think that is okay. I am taking today off from logging food, as I am going to a fall festival pretty soon and just intend to enjoy! Have a good week!0
-
Hi y'all. Hope you are having a great Tuesday. I have logged my food for today and hope to get on this elliptical that I bought. Hope I didn't waste my money on another laundry hanger lol. I have to get moving again. I'm just tired all the time and want to sleep. It is beautiful fall weather here and I need to be hiking or kayaking, but I have very little interest. Baby steps...0
-
Tammy - Good for you for starting out! The longest journey begins with a single step. I am kind of under the weather this week, so don't know if I will manage to do much, but I am logging my food. Have a good week!0

Hi All,
This week has been an interesting week. I decided that I have to start logging my food again because I have to cut back on the exercising. After getting a floor hockey ball to the knee and my injured ankle (from the summer), I decided to take this week off of playing ultimate. It's going to be a hard battle to get back to eating the required amount of food for myself but I am determined to get there.
If there's a day where you haven't seen me log, I give you full permission to say something/yell at me :P
I hope everyone had a great weekend and that you enjoy your Hallowe'en.0 -
Happy Halloween:happy:0

Hey All,
Sorry it's been a while since I last responded. How is everyone doing?
Just over a week ago, we put our one cat down so it was a little difficult for the family (he was 18). It's been swamped at school but somehow I'm managing to stay afloat. These next few weeks are going to be insanely busy but it brings me that much closer to being done school0 -
Sorry to hear about your cat. I miss every pet that leaves me. Right now, my two cats are on my lap as I write this. I have bee sick for weeks, but think I am finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I hope so anyway! Have a great Monday tomorrow!0
-
Being sick really drains a person. I know that this year I've been more sick that I have been in many years. This week has been a busy week but I'm slowly getting through it
I hope you're feeling better.0 -
Sorry I didn't get back sooner. We had internet issues. Anyway, I really do think that I am improving. A little bummed, though, because I gained a few pounds, but I can deal with that. Hope all are well and busy. Have a great day! Mary0

Have to pop in for a quick announcement: my newest grandson (who will be a c section) is scheduled to arrive on Monday, December 12th, at 7:30 am. Am I excited? What do you think??0
-
I think you are quite excited seeing as you already have the time and date listed. It's not that far away either0

I am back from my weekend in Texas. We had a great time. I helped my daughter get started on sorting and packing. She and her husband are on their way to Arkansas today to find a place to live. I hope they are successful and find a good home. They left the baby in Texas with his other grandparents to make the trip smoother, but my daughter was not looking forward to not seeing him until Wednesday.
We got home last night, and my youngest daughter is here to visit. It was her birthday, so it was a treat to be able to give her a birthday kiss in person. It was a rare day for my husband and I as we got to hug all three of our daughters and all three of our grandsons in the same day!
I totally fell off the wagon nutrition wise over the last week. Back at it today, as I have already logged most of my food for the day.
I had probably better get back to work. Have a great Monday!0 -
Happy Monday morning .
I fell off the bandwagon this weekend but I am getting back on track today. This week is going to be a stressful week with my exam being on Friday. There probably won't be much exercising done until after I'm done my exam. I really need to start logging my food on weekends again in order to keep myself accountable.
How is everything going with you? Are you excited for your baby grandson to be coming shortly?0 -
What kind of an exam are you taking? I am doing fine, just busy helping my daughter get ready for a baby and trying to get ready for Christmas. I am having difficulty finding time to exercise, and to watch what I am eating with all of the holiday stuff going on. And yes, I am VERY excited about my new grandson - a week from today!0
-
I'm still in school so it's a university exam - advanced math econ. Not a very fun course.
I totally understand the watching what you eat and getting time to exercise. I'm hoping to start up again on the weekend with taking care of my body again.0 -
Doesn't sound like a fun course, but I am pretty good with math. I help high school kids with math all day at work. But the econ part?
Just wanted to let you know that I have not dropped off of the face of the earth. My daughter is going in for a c section very early tomorrow morning, and I have been very busy helping her get ready for the baby. Can't wait to hold my new grandson!0 -
No worries - I know that's at the top of your priority list. Hopefully everything goes well with the baby and your daughter
The course was not really fun so we'll see how I end up doing in the course. Thankfully I am done exams for the term and now I only have 4 months left of my undergrad. My program is actually Management Economics in Industry and Finance so I have a lot of econ classes which I wonder why I ended up taking the course.0 -
I am hoping that Isaac comes home from the hospital today. They held them an extra day, because big brother got the stomach bug yesterday. I think that my daughter had a touch of it last night and was glad that she hadn't come home yet. Anyway, I am trying to get back to logging my food. Do pretty well with breakfast and lunch, but haven't managed to fit it back into my evening yet, and my life is too unsettled at this point to know in advance what I will be eating. Hope you are enjoying your break from school! Everyone have a great Thursday!0
-
You sound like myself for logging. I have been good for the mornings and lunch but not so much the evenings - and that's for during the week. The weekends, I haven't gotten back into the habit of logging.
I'm enjoying my break so far (working full time until the end of the month). However, I'm not looking forward to January when I have no job - for the first time in forever. I've been searching but there doesn't seem to be part time jobs out there right now.
How's your daughter and grandson doing? I hope all is well!0 -
Okay, I finally have time to sit down and tell you what has been happening with me. As far as my eating and exercising go, too much of one and not enough of the other. You guess which is which. My new grandson, Isaac, is 4 weeks old today, and is a Mary Poppins baby, practically perfect in every way. For this I give thanks. The most exciting moment of my holiday was when my oldest daughter, her husband, and my grandson Luke (who had his first birthday on December 29th) drove up from their brand new home in Arkansas and surprised us on December 30th. I cried. It was wonderful, and they stayed until the 3rd.
This past weekend has been very unpredictable and busy. My husband, dog, and I, along with my daughter, son in law, and 3 grandsons were to make the 150 mile drive to my mother's Friday night and back on Saturday evening for a belated Christmas, as mother had not yet met her newest great grandson. The weekend started when my 3 year old grandson, David, slipped off of his chair at lunch and broke his collarbone. We were still set to go, but running a little late. We went to pick up my daughter's family just as my 6 year old grandson, Jacob, started throwing up. I finally sent the entire crew except Jacob and I, and brought Jacob home with me to spend the night. After a night of sitting with the stomach flu kid, he was better, so he and I drove down Saturday morning and then back home Saturday evening. Today David went to the orthopedist, who prescribed a brace for his shoulder. They no more than got him home and got the brace on him, and he started throwing up. So tonight I went back and got Jacob and took him to the school board meeting where his class was saying the pledge of allegiance to open the meeting. What a time these last few days have been! I am now praying that no one else gets sick.
You might remember that I had been supervising detention after school for the last 9 weeks and was looking forward to being through with that, hoping that I could once again find time to exercise. Unfortunately, a coworker had a death in her family, so I am covering for another 2 weeks. I hope to get back to the swimming pool after that. (I did make it there one day over the holidays.)
I had better get back to work here. I am looking forward to posting more often again. Here's to smart choices! Mary0
