Weighing yourself!

I have always weighed myself every morning to see the progress I am making and have found that even if I don't want to admit it; I find myself obsessing. I was wondering how often do you guys weigh yourself and why? I know that it's often said to weigh yourself once a week, but I look forward to finding out how much I weigh in the morning.
I was just curious!!

Any more than once per week will drive you crazy.0

Once a week, usually in Saturday....our weight naturally fluctuates through the day, so once a week gives me a good idea of how things are going and if i need to make changes.0
-
Isn't once a week a lot too??? hmm I'm confused...0

i jump in a pool and measure the amount of water i displace. its is the most accurate.0

I do it once a week at most. I also make sure i use the same scale at the gym (so I have no excuse not to go).0

LOL, Nice Engineman312...I weigh myself everyday but I have been obsessing about it, I haven't been able to lose for 5 years because of Hashimoto's disease (although this was NOT the only reason, but I'm fixing all of that now!) and I just like seeing it! I disagree with how often I do it but can't stop myself! Maybe once I'm under 200...33 lbs to go!0

First thing Thursday mornings. Only once a week. That makes me feel good about the progress I've made through the week and gives me a good feeling about where I am with my goals and keeps me focused through the weekend.0

I know I should only do once a week, and my weigh in day is Friday, but I'm really bad about doing it between weigh ins too and it's super frustrating sometimes. I just want to give my scale away some days!!!0

I'm still addicted to weighing myself everyday but lately I skip days.0

It really isn't about how often you do it, it's about keeping the proper perspective regarding the number you see0 -
I weigh in daily! I know that my weight fluctuates within a 2 pound range, but I like to know the number Im working with for the day. BTW, I weigh in on the same scale, every morning, naked and after I have used the restroom.0

I'm a bit obessessed I have to say, I weigh everyday!! Keeps me on track. But i'm not sure it is the right way of doing it. Once a week is probably healthier.0

every couple days but I have a window I aim for instead of a specific number since it fluctuates every few hours really.0
-
I try to keep it to once a week - usually on Friday mornings - but i have been known to check mid-week from time to time0

I used to weight daily, why: because I was obsessed.0

I weigh myself everyday and I record it on my daily planner. I get nervous if I am out of town away from my scale  . Don't mind me it's just my OCD.0

So true. I found myself cursing at my scale today. I will go back to only weighing one day a week0 -
I also weigh daily. I've found if I don't, the weight will creep on FAST!0

Ugh needed to hear this. I was up a pound this morning. No matter how much you tell yourself fluctuation is normal it's still crushing to see you've gained.
When we get on the scale and see the numbers have changed, we're like the lab rat that just figured out pushing the button releases a treat. So we start pushing the button over and over and over. We're not that bright after all I guess.0 -
I only weigh in the first day of every month. When I was a teenager trying to lose weight, I'd weigh in everyday and it made me too discouraged and I would always quit. But now I only do it once a month, this works out much better. For me at least.0

I weigh myself almost every morning, I feel that it keeps me motivated and keeps my head in the game. It really depends on what kind of person you are, some people only do it once per week but that just doesn't work for me. If I don't see a number then it's easy for me to lose focus on what I'm trying to accomplish.0

Once a week!
But, i admit that i used to weigh myself almost everyday and it did drive me crazy.
Your weight will keep on fluctuating throughout the week.. and you just won't get whether you're losing or not. Besides, that's pretty obsessive.
So, if you find it hard to just weigh yourself once.. try twice. Pick two days, one at the beginning of the week and one in the middle to track your progress.
Then slowly, you'll find it easier to just weigh yourself once a week.
Good luck, love!0 -
I still weigh myself daily since I've started, unless there has been some sort of reason like not being able to get to my scale. I always weigh in the morning as well.
If I weighed myself weekly then I know for certain that I would probably get lazy and stop this change of lifestyle altogether. A week is way too long. Waking up every morning reminds me why I'm doing this and I've already lost more weight than I thought I would since I started with MFP.0 -
If I'm on holidays I tend to forget, otherwise, I usually weigh myself at least once a day!! if I forget once, then I usually forget the day after, somehow, depending if I have to get dressed or not straight away after waking up, mainly. As when I weight myself I like to do it naked or with very little and light items on0

I have done both, weighed myself once a week (thursdays) and ever day. For years I never had a scale (back in the day when weight wasn't an issue).
I choose to weigh myself every day after going to the wash room (lightest I possibley can be) this keeps me on track. I noticed when I weighed myself once a week I would eat bad after weighing in and good before I weighed in and didn't see any results.
Since joinining this I am on the scale every morning and after I work out...to one crazy weigher to an other - keep it up!!!0 -
Everyday.. but it doesn't drive me crazy. Just interesting to me. I am aware it can fluctuate up to 5 pounds based on sodium etc.0
