What kind of MFP friend are YOU looking for?

The topic on 'how honest' friends should be has gotten me thinking. We are all here looking for different things. We have different goals and methods, whether it be weightloss, maintenance, gaining, getting fit, eating clean, primalism, vegetarianism, high protein, low carb, spiking, carb cycling, zig-zagging, eating healthier, or just cutting back on the number of Happy Meals we consume in a week. Some of us want advice and suggestions, some of us want to be held accountable and called out, some of us want to be left alone, some of us want to serve as an inspiration to others.
So, what are YOU looking for in a friend? Someone who does things just like you? Someone that you can look to for inspiration? Someone you can help in THEIR journey? Someone who will encourage you even if your choices are different than theirs? Someone who will be 'honest' with you (even if you don't ask) or someone who will quietly wait for you to ask for advice?
Post your thoughts here and maybe you'll snag some friends that work out just right for what you're trying to get out of MFP. ;-)

I want someone that comments on my activities and looks at my food diary and says, "Mercedes, how are the brownies working out for you?" so i can respond, "They are not." and thus be more motivated. I want someone that knows what I'm going through.0

I'm looking for blunt honesty, but not rude honesty. Some people cross the line.0

Mouth hugs.
Some people call them 'raspberries'0 -

This. Now, "quit eating brownies you fat b!tch." ...not so much.0 -
Anyone who is motivational!0

Hilarity and smarts. Both characteristics are key to getting this done.
Also, not writing like a 14 y.o. texting (e.g. "omg ur 2 kewl").0 -
I like my friends like I like my pizza....in bikini's and underwear!0

That second method is pretty much the only kind that works for me.0 -

I like the type of friends who know that when they call me a b0 -
Anyone that can hang on my friends list for a week without running for the hills when I start discussing strip clubs and fetishs0

Yeah, my friends all appreciate the harsh truth as in "pull your big girl panties up, get your head out of your *kitten*, stop whining and making excuses and get off the fkg couch before they need to cut the side of your house off and get a crane to remove you from your bed".0 -

I'm down... too late though you're already on my friends list0 -
I like using the message boards to connect with people, but at this point in my weight loss journey, I have only added people as friends who I know in real life. Maybe I'll feel more comfortable later, but right now, I like being left alone.
<soapbox> One thing that bothers me is when some MFP users criticize other MFP users who have their food diaries private. To me, keeping track of what I eat and how often I exercise is something I need to do anyway - whether I track it privately on pen and paper or electronically. I joined my MFP for the tracking aspect first, and the social aspect is an added bonus. I don't think I necessarily need to share my food diary to be successful; being accountable to myself is most important. However, I can definitely understand why that works for others. </soapbox>0 -

I'm not looking for friends. I am happy with the group I have. They are smart, supportive and funny. They are at various levels of fitness, but they all do their best and don't make excuses. They have chosen to learn about nutrition and exercise, and so we all learn from each other.
My friends are absolutely wonderful.0 -

suddenly Iron Maiden is singing in my brain.... ♪♫♪♫ "run to the hills.... run for your li-i-ife!!!"♪♫♪♫0 -
I love my lot of smart, funny, snarky folks. That's what I most appreciate about my friends here. It's a wonderful blend of intelligence, humour, insight and support.0

I am looking for someone who will respond to my posts and provide encouragement so I can do the same. I have a friend who just posts and posts and posts but doesn't respond to feedback and doesn't comment on anybody else's stuff. that is pretty annoying.0

I want an encouraging friend, one that will laugh with me, sometimes at me and help me to take this mission seriously. We are all here for various reasons, perhaps the biggest being accountability. We place our eating habits, our weight, our activity in view of everyone just so that we pay attention.
I will say, rudeness or meaness does not belong. I know I bash myself enough!0 -
All sorts of people, depends on the day I am having. I LOVE having the motivational people so I feel like I need to keep up with them. I LOVE having the hot people so I can have a drive to look hot myself. And I LOVE having the funny people so I can have a laugh. :happy:0

Starting out on this site I looked for ppl who were in the same range as my height, age and weight limit. But I accept those who are willing to support, be forthcoming with their daily advice and suggestions! I'm not too keen on stocking up on the number of friends I have. Long as there is someone who supports me and I can do the dame in return is all that matters to me. Absolutely love the forums though, I get great tips and idea from great ppl who love doing what they do and are not bitter about it!0

POSITIVE people! I like when people share the ups and downs of their journey. Self-loathing is just heartbreaking though
On that note, I would love to meet a guy-me. Like, a male counterpart with similar goals or outlook. That'd be so fun! I like the male perspective.0 -

I am not really out looking for friends. Sometimes someone comes along or I see them around and I like them. I admit I choose my friends carefully and am fairly picky about who I choose, but I don't really have any specific criteria. Except for excellence. :flowerforyou:0 -
Just the kind that make me laugh, and are supportive. That get my weird little sense of humor.
That know I hate fruit.
My friends are all awesome and I wouldn't trade them for any friends list on MFP.0
