planters fasciitis

Hello,

Wondering if anyone has any home remedies for planters fasciitis (extreme pain on your heal). I have seen a specialist and he wanted to give me orthotic insoles - but then my shoes don’t fit. I’ve tried rolling my foot over a tennis ball during the day and sleeping with the “sock” on at night.

We have hardwood floors throughout our house and I wear padded slippers from the time I get home until the time I go to bed. It gets so painful and it makes it difficult to work out.

Anything suggestions that actually worked for you?

    I understand what you are going through and it is awful! I wear the sock thing at night (if it is what I am thinking of- it keeps your foot up). That typically helps a little. Also, try new inserts in your sneakers (they won't take up as much space as your orthotics). You may have to change up your workouts for awhile. Running and higher impact workouts will keep it inflamed. Unfortunately I have found that time is the only thing that helps.

    I concur with the above, time is what is really needed, unfortunatly. Keep off it as much as you can, maybe try an exercise bike or swimming for cardio (or just skip the cardio and focus on weights for now!)

    Once it heals, the insoles should help it from reoccuring, or at least from being as painful. I still get flareups from time to time but the insoles help a lot. The tennis ball and sock are great, also try ice when it hurts and some stretches. Here are some examples.     ETA: Take the current soles out of your shoes and then put the orthotic insoles in, they should fit much better then.

    I tried everything until I got orthotics. They were the only thing that worked for me.
