I have seen a few posts about logging, but are you going to try to stay under your calorie goal during the upcoming holidays? I am!
I have set goals and I want to meet them. I don't mind limiting not what, but how much I take in during the holiday. I can just get up and go to the gym and easily have over 2,000 calories for the day to play with:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:

  • Holidays to me = Family fun, lots of delicious high calorie food (mmm lasagna!), stress free time, and enjoyment.
Calorie counting would take a portion of that away. Calorie counting and losing weight is supposed to improve how we feel and make life a little more enjoyable. It is NOT supposed to take away from the enjoyment part. Eat with your family, enjoy the day, and start fresh after.

Actually, I'm worried that New Year's Day and the week or two following will be toughest for me, at least as far as getting out and walking/jogging goes. I bet there will be a lot more people wandering around in their tennies and sweats, and I don't like people! They do scary things to me like say 'hi' and expect me to say 'hi' back!

    I completely agree.

Besides, Thanksgiving dinner is one meal, Christmas dinner is one meal, and maybe there's 4-5 meals of leftovers. The "holidays" typically last from Thanksgiving until New Year's, and if you are eating great and working out for the rest of those 5 weeks, then 2-3 days worth of meals shouldn't derail your progress.

I will stay under my maintenance calories and also exercise, but I will probably get my calories from unhealthier foods than normal.
