Been really struggling with my eating for awhile - wondering if anyone knows of any youtube videos that have grossed you out enough to turn you off junk food?

I do not like the usual burger and fries anyway, but I am always totally grossed out by Fat Families, You eat what you are and Super skinny versus super size

No, what grossed me out was my fat body.

    That's what did it.

I'm going to be pretty honest. I look at it from the other end, rather than watching how disgusting fast food and other processed foods are created... I actually watch videos of really attractive people and that usually ignites this thought in my mind that I can be/look just like them if I readjust my focus and commit to a healthy lifestyle.

Like the music video to the song "We Live for the Music" by Robbie Rivera (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEnv97vXAOY).
It's dance music, so if you can't stomach that then don't bother. But the music depicts, what appears to be, a party exclusive to only good looking and in shape people. After getting halfway through the video, I'm so motivated to do better that any choice other than healthy ones are deterred and I regain my focus.

That's just how I do it though.

I haven't watched it yet but I hear Food Inc really details industrial production of meat. I buy almost all my meat from local farmers now - especially pork and beef.
  • I recently watched Forks over Knives on Netflicks. It was a real eye opener.

I watched Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution :) It's not just to turn us off fast food/junk food... but it's such an inspiring show that I love about being healthy.

Once I had kids I really stopped the fast food. We would have it maybe a couple of times a month but then I watched Super Size Me. They might get fast food once every couple of months now. I am lucky because my kids love Panera and Subway. I think of these as kinda fast food. I'm also lucky that I have the time to cook. I have friends that work full time and are so busy it makes it a lot harder.

Yeah, it's hard for me... I work 2 jobs
one at a bowling alley on the weekends
and then in a fast food restaurant 47 hrs m-f

I am a food-documentary nut! haha my netflix now has a category for it! Supersize me was good, also Food, Inc. and Forks over Knives. The Future of Food was about nutrition and genetically modified food and that was pretty cool, and Food Matters goes into a lot of the healing benefits of whole food which is kind of the same thing as "junk food is bad" but in a positive and informative light. All of them are on netflix.
  • I looked up the calorie info! Figuring out that I could eat double my daily calories in 5 minutes was not a good feeling. Not to mention sodium

I do this too. I try to do this for all restaurants, not just fast food. I am amazed at the number of calories in some of the food I love!

Read the book Fast Food nation. After reading how the food is made you should be turned off fast food. It did for me a few years ago and I never returned.
