Lately at work I've had alot of not so nice custmers. That I'll go home in tears. My ? is how can I take that and push myself to workout and not get into a depression.

kickbox cardio! any club boxing class, also i have a bag in my garage, so good for getting out the frustration whether it is other people or the hubby! and burns a ton of calories! i love getting on the bike and just riding for as a long and as fast as i can. workouts help my mood tremendously and since i have been working out again have not been in a depression for a couple months even though i have had reasons to be! good luck!

Boxing! Hitting something is the best way to get in shape and take out anger.

Thats a hard question. Because you may want to fuel your workouts with the anger, but soon you will realize its more likely to become a punishment. and you could hurt yourself. I dont think its wise for anyone to work out ANGRY per se. Being diligent in your workouts before going into work will help alleviate some of the stress and you will cope much better. Even something simple as a few laps around the store or wherever you are working... Get the heart pumping and those feel good endorphines rolling in. People are going to be people. And you cant please most people any of the time. lol. Thats just how it goes. And tempers are high at Christmas because everyone is in a rush and dont want to wait.

Get some awesome music about 130bpm, put it in your ears and go for a run outside!

We can't let the bad folks sabotage our program.
Toughen up or find a different job.

I could not function in any environment where I had to suck to jerks; they'd get a punch to the nose.
Not everybody is cut out for customer service.

Just don't let anybody stand between you and success, or they own you.

I have had a lot of family issues recently that make me angry, but instead of ranting to people and upsetting the delicate relationship balance, I go to the gym and either run or use the elliptic machines and think about whats gone on, or whats been said. By the time I have finished, all the anger is out of me, I can smile and get on with my life. Just getting on the elliptic makes me feel calmer now. The anger fuelled my desire to exercise but now I do it because I have learnt to love it.

working out is a BRILLIANT way to combat frustration and depression! I have suffered depression before and trust me, RUNNING cures it!!!
When I'm angry and frustrated I normally head to the rower for interval sprints - works every time :)

Try pumping up some really vibrant music like ACDC, Foo Fighters, Green Day - it's FANTASTIC for motivation and I feel INCREDIBLE afterwards :)
  • I totally understand !!! It's the same thing for me !!! As I workout on the morning not to skip it at night if I'm too tired, I don't know if I can workout again at night ! I have an elliptique at home, but I think the kicking thing could be great ! I 'll try that, and you should too Celtick ! Good luck with that ! Personnally, I'm beginning to hate people lol

Totally agree with cardio kickboxing! I know when I've had days I get annoyed with everyone, I go to my kickboxing class and punch and kick and feel so much better.

Though even just tearing up the elliptical can make me feel better too.
