oh come on we all want to know

I was just ranting! Of course everyone would like to have that special someone who is physically perfect and gorgeous. In a perfect world....
I don't really care for perfection. I find guys who spend hours at the gym working on their bodies to be unattractive. I also prefer a little chub. The only reason I would turn down a heavy guy is if he wasn't committed to getting healthy. I wouldn't have enough in common with him if that were the case.
My picture of an ideal man ranges from James McAvoy to Martin Freeman to Kevin James. All three are equally hot!0 -
They were lying to be nice.
We like thin ladies - period. You won't find extra large winning Miss America.
Look no further than that or any female model and usually you'll find this ideal is set for a reason.
That's reality.
WHAAAT??? Maybe you and other men too, but I for one know men that would preffer their woman with more meat on their bones and they really do! It depends on your preference, not all men want "thin ladies"..period.0 -

I would break most models, gotta be at least a little sturdy.

Yeah I forgot to mention that. I'm 6'2, 220 lbs. I'm not small. I'd be afraid of breaking a thin woman lol.0
-
Why does it matter "what men want" you to look like? I am sure just like women, all men like a variety and what one man may consider perfect, another may not.
I don't even worry about what my own husband "wants me to look like". Of course, I already know he finds me beautiful and just because he finds another women who looks different than me attractive, I am in no way threatened by that.
My self worth isn't measured by what others think of me.

Really??
Ok first of all lots of people have varying opinions and once upon a time paintings of women were DEFINITELY not skinny minnies. Thats a recent cultural thing, relatively. Personally I blame Warhol and Twiggy times.
There even used to be ads for women saying "dont be skinny!"
So dont tell me you know what men want.
on OP subject - my bf likes curvy. He loves my big butt and hates that I dont. He likes a handful of boob, not much more.
Where as some of his coworkers prefer the ridiculously thin with big boobs look that was always fed to them =\0 -
google "venus painting"
not at work, cuz Im sure despite it being art its nsfw.
thats what was once the perfect woman.0 -
Here is the thing I dont care what men like I care what I like. I like to be thin. I like my hip bones sticking out and my coller bone to show, I am just lucky that I still have T&A0
-
ErinBeth -> this is not a trait that is male-exclusive. Women also tend to want men who are the pinnacles of physical appearance, even if they themselves are not.
I do realize not every man wants a perfect body and there are lots of women who are judgmental as well. It goes both ways.
I was just ranting! Of course everyone would like to have that special someone who is physically perfect and gorgeous. In a perfect world....
No harm. There are a lot of people out there that do hate on the opposite sex for this very thing though, and it's a people-thing. Is also why I want to move to Europe
Lol. whats europe goota do with it? You find the same nobs here that you find anywhere else. Even between european countries there is soooo much difference lol0 -

While I think some of what you're saying is true, your logic is flawed. I don't think Miss America is meant to represent what men consider beautiful. It represents a vague standard of beauty.
A lot of men don't like overweight women, because at this point, being overweight is out of fashion. It didn't used to be. When I was growing up (in the 80's and 90's) being fat was a bit like having a big nose. It was a physical flaw but not a deal-breaker.
Now, with obesity on the rise, being thin is a status symbol. It is now the most sought-after physical feature of a woman. She can look like she fell from the ugly tree and hit every branch coming down, but if she's THIN, well, then we have something.
Another flaw in your logic is the idea that all men like thin women. They don't.0 -
There's a reason they have more than 1 painting at the Art Museum. Takes all kinds of paintings to fill a gallery. Same with people. Different strokes for different folks.0

I wonder why he believes he speaks for all mankind when he spews dribble like this???
I can name tons of examples of men that prove him wrong. One being my brother...he's married to someone who's over 200 pounds and has actually told me that he was attracted to her because he likes plump women. They've been married for 7 years now, and "weight" has NEVER been an issue between them.0 -
I can honestly say that the guy who posted that all men like and "want" thin/skinny women is not speaking for the general male population (at least not those over 12)... My husband has never had an issue with my weight, heck he doesn't really even know what my "number" is but he knows I'm healthy and working on becoming healthier and that's all that matters.
The average woman in America is a size 14 people--and in case you little boys don't know that means she has to shop in the plus size section of the store GASP! (sarcasm)
My brother is another good example, my father, several of my friends--who was that rap guy singin "I like big butts..."? So, dude, puh-lease...speak for yourself.0 -
I always preferred women with a little bit of meat on them. Not too skinny but not too fat either. Somewhere in between is perfect, IMO. Basically a lady who's got plenty of curves.0

As far as the celebrities weighing 100-110#, I don't buy it. Some of them? Sure. Some are reed-thin. But I find it a little funny when some actress lists her stats as having my exact same height and measurements, but she weighs 108# and I'm about 20# more than that. It's like vanity sizing... vanity pounds. They have publicists who give out the stats they think they should have.0
-
I'd say start with yourself. People are shallow regardless. Women also say they want one thing, but their actions show that they want something else.
{shrug}
I prefer a woman at the max of her ideal weight to 10-20 lbs over. While fitness models are nice to look at, fitness models are also high maintenance. I really don't have time for high maintenance.
I do not like a woman who is obese. So basically, a little over is my preferred. Super thin, no thanks. Obese... no thanks.
Weight in pounds doesn't correlate to how you look. A 5'7 woman weighing 140 lbs may look awesome to me, and another 5'7 woman weighing 140 lbs next to her may look sloppy. It's a lot in how you carry it too.
I'm confused about why you would need to take time out from your day for someone elses high maintenance body. Are you afraid some woman is going to pull you away from your career to spot her in the weight room six hours a day?
Now if we're talking high maintenance because she's not eating enough and she's really cranky all the time, that I get!0 -
My wife asked me about this once....
Basically, I (and probably most men) first started talking to my wife because she is hot... I continued talking to her because she's freaking awesome. The chick on the TV I like because she's hot... Chances are, the part that would make me continue to talk to her isn't there.0 -

why aren't there more guys with this attitude out there?
@ Nikki.. I agree0 -

Also, most of the thin celebrities don't even look the way they do in pictures, etc. Photoshop is a miracle worker!0 -

That makes about as much sense as what he said.0 -
I don't like skinny women.
100-115 is OK (if you're under 5 feet tall).
I'd say 120-140 for someone 5'6" is about right.
And sexy is not about size, it's about how you carry it.

Where have you been all my life?! :flowerforyou: lol. Love the attitude0 -
Not all men are into thin women.
My husband wrapped his arms around me a few days ago and said "whoa.. um, yeah.. I know you're losing weight and all and I know you feel better, but please stop before I can count your ribs."0 -
There is someone for everyone.
People tend to hang around like people -- and like people often share similar interests in what they find attractive (extending to people).
Another thing to keep in mind is something called Compliance (in social psychology) -- this means that people agree with one another, even if the people secretly disagree. This is extremely common...for instance, if someone points out a cake in a bakery, "That is a great looking cake!" then even if other people disagree, they will respond, "It sure is!"
Thus, it is possible that the preferences of this group of male friends appears similar, when in fact it could be completely opposite.
Frankly, you should make your body however makes you happy. I mean...think of it:
There are people who get off to inanimate objects, feet, race, age, deformities...you name it, there is seriously someone who will find you the most gorgeous person on earth!0 -
so yesterday a couple of girl friends and i were watching a movie with our hubbies sitting on the couch and during the commercials they started talking about "how hot the women were" and "which one was better"
and we asked them what made them "hot" some replied "cuz they are in shape" " big boobs" "nice thin legs".
..but then we when we asked them what a a good healthy weight was they all said "125-140"
what is too skinny?...."100-115" they look like the walking skeleton models.
then when we asked them what they found attractive they said
"fit but not muscle woman" "nice butt and boobs but not too big"...lol nothing about personality at all XD
and then when we told them the movie actresses weight " 105-115" they were shocked!
...and we "the girls" were all confused..
so please lets hear what you men like...actress weight and shape or the healthy weight class that has curves. or even the muscle women class.
we were just confused cuz the men were saying they wanted one thing"movie start body" but then they were contradicting themselves when they explained what they found attractive "weight class and looks"

please dont kill me but I do like Kim K.'s body. she seems in shape and has a perfect coke bottle shape.0

I'd be surprised if most men could accurately guess a woman's weight. We aren't he brightest of creatures.
I think it would be really shallow person to base their love and affection for their spouse based off of weight. I have no idea how many pounds my wife weighs. I do know she is fit, active and puts up with my crap every day, so how could I not find that attractive.0 -
Personally, I find fuller figured women to be ideal.

The media has called them both "Fat", I think that they are just well proportioned women. Weight doesn't matter, it is just a number. Being healthy is what we should all strive for!

Totally agree... Christina Hendricks makes me drool0 -
I seem to know all the guys who think movie actresses need a decent meal :P Even though I'm nowhere near underweight, I have been told I'm nearly too skinny to be hot. That being said, from my observations its like the guys said above..its how the girl is put together more than anything else. I was a twinge bummed to learn that me being so much more in shape than the other girls wasn't always in my favor :P lol0
