So I've been on this journey since the end of February. I am VERY proud of the changes that I have made for sure but now I am having a little trouble with my motivation this week. Which is REALLY frustrating since next weekend is the weekend that I have been planning for all year! The BF's birthday pool party in Vegas!!
I don't have too much to lose now ~ about 5 lbs but it seems like they are the worlds LOOOONGEST 5 pounds to lose.
What do you guys do to get over this hump. It was exciting for the 1st couple months but now I feel like the grind is starting!!! :grumble: :grumble:

I've heard the Diet Coke and Cocaine diet works wonders
Good luck sweetie! I'm still working on my last 20+.0 -

HA HA! I've actually had some friends try out that diet. It works wonders. Too bad the second you stop it all comes back! That and the fact that it's illegal! :bigsmile:0 -
Have you changed up your workouts? I consistently run but today I tried a spin class and I LOVED it, the hour went by sooo fast. Good luck you will get there!

I'm a bouncer when it comes to the gym. I very rarely spend more than 20-30 min on once piece of equipment.
I am definitely interested in spin class tho...i've been putting off cuz I know how bad it's gonna kill me! Maybe it's time to suck it up!!!!0 -

I think you will be fine. I do run a lot but I NEVER ride the bike and I was totally fine, it was a good workout, everyone is pouring sweat and you can just put the resistance lower if your having trouble but seriously go for it! Let me know how it goes

Ok, is that a current pic of you? If so, you look GREAT, go flaunt it!!!
No really, the first on always take the longest to get off but you should be very proud of where you are at right now, there are people out there (me) that are willing to cut off a leg or two to be where you are!
But I too have heard spin class might be just what the doctor ordered, if anything it is highly recommended for great legs and *kitten*! Plus it is group and with the instructor it seems to fly by :flowerforyou:
OH, and this smiley is exactly what the guys around the pool are going to be doing :laugh:0 -
As already suggested change up your excercises! Try jogging on the treadmill, spin class, aerobic kickboxing class anything different than what you already are doing! It really does help. Also a change in your diet may help like eating fruit for your breakfast and snacks, salad for dinner etc., believe it or not but a little change goes a long way!0

I don't know what you do for exercise now, but you could try some interval training. I know it burns major calories. There's usually an interval program on treadmills/ellipticals, try one off this site: http://www.intervaltraining.net/, or make up your own. Pair it with some weights, and I bet those last 5 drop right off.
Spin class sounds like a good option, but I'm like you; I can't do the same thing for a whole hour. I've never tried it, so maybe it's not as boring as it sounds.
Let me know if something works for you. I'm about in the same spot. I have a week left before my baby's first birthday party (with tons of family I haven't seen in a long time), and I'd love to drop my last 5 before that.0 -

Nichole is totally right. You already will look smokin' hot at the pool.0 -
The pic was taken like 2 weeks ago I think?? Thanks for all the kind words ladies!!! It's just hard to switch from the this is just a diet and I can eat whatever I want in a week mentality to this is what I need to do for the rest of my life thing. I'm pumped that I've stuck to working out 5 days a week for the last 3 months for sure tho. Usually I go for like 2 weeks and then something comes up.
Right now I'm about 141 pounds and I would like to get down to 133-135. It's amazing to me how hard it is to lose now that I am almost 30. My metabolism went down the ****ter!! :grumble: :grumble:
Jenna - you and I seem to have the same goals. We'll have to be buddies!
I'll try the spin class sometime this week and let you know how it goes. I think you actually have to sign up for it since it's popular at 24 hour fitness so it'll take a little planning!0 -

Nah, Diet Coke is nasty. :glasses:0 -

Yeah know, diet coke doesn't taste as good as it used to now that I am obsessed with iced green tea. I have one every now and then and it's blah!
This coming from someone who was TOTALLY ADDICTED to diet coke when I first started the site!!0 -

That would be awesome! I need a buddy to keep me in check... especially on the weekends! I tend to quit keeping track and go right back to my "old ways" until Monday morning. I'm about 5'4" (I'm guessing you're a little taller than me), and am shooting for 125... I'm about 131 now.
My metabolism is crap now too. I think age, plus having a baby really did me in. It's definitely more difficult to lose and keep it off now. :grumble:
Have fun in Vegas!!0 -

Honey, I dont know what you are talking about. You look great! :flowerforyou:0 -
Is your body trying to tell you that you are at the perfect weight? As you know we all have differant bone masses, which may result in your ideal weight being higher than somebody with a lower bone mass.
In my own personal experience for loosing those last couple of pounds I had to refocus on my goals and keep better track of my calories. I was within 3 lbs of my goal weight for over 4 weeks without making any progress. What I did was change my goal settings to loose 1 lb per week from 1/2 a pound and then I kept to my allowed calories. I lost the 3 lbs in 2 weeks.
You do look like you are ready to turn heads at any Vegas pool. Enjoy your time with your BF at a place that you have been looking forward to for quite awhile. :drinker:
