A satsuma in the toe! There's always a satsuma :) Or an orange or clementine if you can't get them where you are.

I've got 2 girls(4&6) & we always give them a small stuffed animal. This year they're also getting make-up stuff, tattoos, toothbrushes & mini Lalaloopsy toys. I'm usually not too worried about putting too much in the stockings. Last year I had to remind them there was even stuff in them. They are always too busy playing with their other stuff.

^^^This kind of stuff. My son hardly eats candy anyway so all I got him this year was one of those little tubes of the mini m&m's. Occasionally a DVD or a book :)

This is the first year we've really done stockings. My parents never actually filled ours, just hung them. I filled one for my son this year since he is old enough to actually GET everything happening. Wanted to make it a little more magical for him. :)

Bubble bath, a book, some mints (he loves candy canes), a wii remote shaped pillow, a night light and some pokemon cards. Maybe you could try an electric toothbrush or coloring book.
  • I have only put toys in their stockings this year but I also have a 23 month old and a 10 month old.

THIS. My parents always put good, practical gifts in the stockings and I loved it. Did it for my kids too. I don't do stockings for the grandkids tho..... maybe I should start.......
  • cute x-mas socks, hair things, earrings/jewelry, small notepad to draw on, crayons, balls . We also give each of a children an ornament each year so when they grow up and go out on their own, they take the ornaments with them and then they have some for their tree. =)

Always an orange and an apple. My parents used to put nuts in ours....but I don't do this!
We also put a few candies ofsome sort or packs of gum. There is usually chapstick(I have all girls) or nail polish or a toothbrush!
This year it will be an orange an apple a little tub of cotton candy(their favorite) and a pack of gum for each of them.

Mine are 3yrs and 20mos and they both have yummy snacks from Trader Joe's (brown rice marshmallow bars, chocolate covered Joe's O's), a little bit of Christmas candy and that's about it so far. Their stockings are too small for the little toys we got them and I know my mom has some things for them. Since I've started making all our meals (as in: no fast food, no prepackaged food ever) and our food budget has been much tighter we haven't been getting them kids snacks like we used to. So I took this opportunity to let them indulge in those.

Last year they got new toothbrushes, little ice packs, and band aids in addition to snacks.

We do some candy, beef jerky, new toothbrush and personal hygiene items each year. For a 2 or 3 year old you could do bath crayons or water tints, bandaids, brush or comb. My kids must think that Santa is a neat freak lol.

I'm * this* close to putting coal in my daughter'sstocking! Thanks a million, Princess Joy!

Usually filled with nail polish and a new music CD. This year, I should put in an orange, too. Never candy, though. She gets enough candy throughout the year.
