    Grammer vs. Grammar.

Grammar: The set of structural rules that govern the composition of clauses, phrases, and words in any given natural language.

Grammer: 1 gram sack of weed.

(I won't even bother with nerds vs. nerd's...) :noway:

I'm glad it covers Lose / Loose. Maybe Mike can make reading it a condition of membership of MFP?

I don't understand why so many people get that wrong, but it's impossible to spend 5 minutes in the forums without seeing someone talking about 'loosing weight' :grumble:
  • I'm a grammar nerd and this is a great little article about 8 commonly misused words:

I haven't clicked on the link... but chuckled at the incorrect spelling and the superfluous apostrophe.

Thanks for making my night, OP. Lol

The one that humors me the most is when someone says, "That's a mute point."

Moot: of little or no practical value or meaning

Mute: silent; refraining from speech or utterance

    So.....

If it really is a MUTE point, then shut the f--- up!

Oh, and for all you grammar nerds out there....

...you should read the book Eats Shoots and Leaves.

(OK, so to properly show a book title, I'd either need the ability to do BOLD or underline in this post, which I lack, so please pretend that the book title referenced has been properly modified)

    ^fab book!

Erm OP were you serious about being a grammar nerd? Because if you were you would've put "grammar nerds" as your title. Nerds didn't need an apostrophe.

Sorry. I hate misuse of apostrophes!

    Merry Christmas! :)

If you were really a grammar nerd, you would know that book titles are supposed to be underlined only when you don't have the ability to italicize them. (And in plain text, you should use quotes.)

or as Joey Tribiani of "Friends" would say, its a 'moo' point!
When called out on his improper use he explained that cows can't talk, hence the 'moo' point.
