I suggest you pick one or the other to focus on. If you want to lose weight, keep working out but eat at a deficit. If you want to gain muscle, keep working out, but eat at a slight excess and get adequate protein.
  • Continue lifting weights for your muscle and defininition. Consider going lighter on the weights. Take more time as you do your reps. For example on a dumbell curl go 4 to 5 counts up and squeeze at the top and four counts down then hold for 5. This will give you great definition while using a lighter weight and not adding bulk as quickly. You will also need to up your cardio. Don't fret about the extra weight brought on by muscle. remember that muscle helps you burn your calories more effectively which will lead to more weight loss! BTW muscle doesn't weigh more than fat 10 lbls of muscle and 10 lbs of fat is 10 lbs. The question is, would you rather have a 10 lb pillow under your shirt or a 10 lb brick? :-)
  • Thanks a lot for the advice....I will give it a shot...but of course I gotta have the brick under the shirt...lol
  • Thanks for the advice, I will start to up my cardio tonight...and go lower weights with higher reps... I will keep you posted...
  • Please do. I used be a body builder and got lazy. Getting back in shape is hard work and if your not getting the results you want it can be frustrating. Being a former football player I know you have the disipline (sp?) belly fat is always the hardest and the last to go lol GET THAT BRICK
