Guess what!!!!
TIMES UP!!!!!!
Time to put on your big girl panties....or big boy....panties, and stop talking about WHEN and start DOING!!!!!
Don't look back on 2012 and wonder why you couldn't have just "stuck with the program", or "stayed on the wagon"....if only I just hung in there "I COULD BE ONE OF THE SUCCESS STOREYS" or "I COULD BE POSTING BEFORE/AFTER PIC". Look back and say "Look how far I have come", "See how much energy I have now" and my favorite "Ya I AM happier than I was".
This is YOUR year to succeed; it is time to put YOU first!!!!!
I really do wish everyone the most success this year.

I agree!! With bells on!
I'm exactly 12 months into my new lifestyle and I am fitter, healthier and happier. I wouldn't have had any of those things if I hadn't taken the first step and got my fat backside off the couch!0 -
I suspect the "Start on New Year's Day" people are really the "Start on Monday" people. So this will be their big dilemma. Do they start on New Year's Day or wait until the 2nd so they can start on Monday? Father Time is crazy cruel.0
-
And if you're making the decision to start, ignore family members who say things along the lines of "Wait until New Year's over..." "Is this the best time to start considering what's going on?" blah, blah, blah. Don't let them quit for you before you've even started.0

Every year it's the same thing.
The sheeple come in droves to get fit, then once they realize it requires effort, POOF!
By mid-Feb they're mostly back to their old ways, still paying a gym membership but not showing up.
And then a few weeks before summer, here they come again, and by mid June, there they go...lol0 -
Amen!0

Instead of criticism and doubt - how about support - I for one have set a beginning date of Jan 1 to try and lost 100 lbs by the next Jan 1 - I need firm dates and this will, I hope, work for me. I know that the cards may be stacked against me, but the last thing anyone needs is people being critical when another is at least planning for a healthier future.0

New Year's is a time for all new things! I'm just going to renew my determination to work hard and get even healthier! Monday is it for me!0

that wasn't criticism, that was full on support from me....I am only half way to my goal and I have been at it for close to a year now, it is not easy it is an everyday struggle. The cards are not stacked against you, there are plenty of people here who have lost that much weight and more, the only thing against you is your own mind...Again I am not trying to be critical just honest. Again good luck, and like I said before I wish everyone the most success this year.0 -

One of my favorite quotes: "Want results? They start when you do."
Whether you started months ago, today, or you start tomorrow, the important thing is that you start. Congrats to those of you who have already started and kudos on your accomplishments thus far, and good luck to those of you just jumping in. Make it a healthy, happy new year! :drinker:0 -
I dread Monday because all the New Years Resolution people will be there to get skinny for 2-3 days, but will never show back. If you're not committed, why bother trying.0
-
Picking up the diet again tomorrow, and fitness on wednesday when I can probably go back to the gym. Two weeks of barely moderating my intake and letting my muscles rest up has been lovely, but I'm itching to pick up a barbell.0

Instead of starting in the New Year... there's no better time to start than RIGHT NOW!0

because if you NEVER try you will NEVER succeed...0 -
New year, new day. Whenever you wake up & smell the coffee is the day to start. I decided in April when I just couldn't stand myself anymore. I wore yoga pants all the time as they had stretch. I convinced myself with yoga pants & big shirts that I wasn't getting larger than life. Then I went to try to put on my "Fat jeans" and I couldn't get them up over my thighs. Hello... I didn't think I could do it, but I did and continue to do it. That was my time. I never felt so unhealthy & horrible in my life. I decided to suck it up and joined a biggest loser program at a small independent local workout place. In 8 months I'm only 15 pounds away from my goal. Now they used me as their poster child for the upcoming 10 week session coming up next month. To everyone out there that doesn't think they can.... YOU CAN................. LOL and happy new year!0

i started as soon as xmas was over, i felt horrible, i'm not waiting and making myself feel worse in the long run i'm going to start before everyone else and keep trooping on! i have some hefty goals this year but i'm 23 and my health has spiralled down, need to fix it now rather than later, i'm going to prove to all those skeptics that actually i can do it ! I've got more time for the gym now I just need sort out how i'm going to eat properly working the hours I do with hardly any breaks0
-
What the OP said. Start today. Right now. There is no point to putting it off, and a date is only arbitrary. Just make the decision and do it.0
-
I put a new twist on my New Years Resolution this year...I got a six week jump start! I am going to put the past behind me and move forward to better things and better health!0
-
I have a sticky on my wall next to my monitor that says New Year's Resolution Work Out! on it. It's from last year. Did I work out? No. Not until I was good and ready I didn't. I'm glad I got good and ready before Thanksgiving because now the New Year is coming in and I've already got some steam built up.
But for those who might not be good and ready on New Years, don't let it get to you. Don't get hung up on a date. If you're suddenly feeling energized and ready on January 18 instead of January 1st, don't let not getting started sooner stop you, grab your tennis shoes and get out there.0 -
I agree 100%
It feels so good that I decided it was time to do it and to not make excuses, because I am leaving 58 pounds behind me in 2011 and I WILL reach my goal in 2012. Feels so good to know I didn't waste 2011 and quite possibly, gain more weight.... but that is ME! To those of you just starting out or still trying to find the motivation - get it done in 2012 you will feel SO much better and when 2013 starts to creap around you can look back at yourself in awe and say 'I did it'.
Good luck everyone!0 -
I wish everyone luck who is starting in the new year. I've been one who always said I'll wait til after this holiday or until Monday or until New Years but Oct 21, 2011 something finally clicked. I was saying to myself " I need to do this." Keep in mind that I've been trying to lose weight in some way since I was a teenager. I was about 160 at age 17 my highest weight was 283 at 27 years old. 10-21-11 was a Friday at first I said I'll wait until Monday, then Halloween is right around the corner, then my wedding anniversary, then Thanksgiving and the list goes on. I'm 70 days in and I've had my mess ups but I track it and I'm not giving up. I'm down 40lbs from my highest weight and still have a good way to go but I'm confident that I can do it. For those setting theirs goals on Jan 1 I hope that you will be successful but just remember when Jan 31 comes around the corner and you feel like giving up or you already have just try to find it in you to keep going. It doesn't matter what day what time you start just find your motivation and roll with it. You can be successful!0
