Ripped in 30: What size weights do I need?

I'm planning on starting the program a little later today. I want everything ready to go. What size weights should I use? I used 5 lb weights for 30DS, but I probably could've used some 8 lb weights. Suggestions?

Thanks!

Just experiment. Go to your local gym and get a feel for which size weights that are best for you. I love free weights.

I'm doing it now, on level two. I'd say 5's and 8's or 10's would be good. I use 5's and 8's.

I love JM work-outs! I use 5 lbs and 8 lbs weights. I try to use the 8s for everything, but some things I really need to use the 5s. Since they use three pound weights in the video, there's no shame in using 5s! :)

I use 6lbs for some things, 8lbs for others and 10lbs for yet some other exercises in the video.
My best advice would be to play around and find something that's challenging for you yet you aren't gonna hurt yourself.
    btw. it's an awesome workout!

Size of the weights are irrelevant when looking to get 'ripped'.

Getting ripped is 90% down to your diet, a low carb diet at that. Just lift what you're comfortable with, everyones different so what works for 'x' won't necessarily work for 'y'. Keep the rep range 12-15 for 3-4 sets depending on exercise. Remember to train with intensity.

I started out using 1's and 3's on the shred (sad I know) but was able to bump up to using 3's and 5's by the end. Now I'm doing it again w/ my DH and I'm able to use 8's on several exercises but still need to use the lower ones on some other moves. I say just have a range of a few different sizes that you are comfortable with and a size that is a challenge for you currently. Do what you can and push yourself occasionally and see what happens. I'm going to try out Ripped in 30 as soon as it arrives in the mail and just do whatever I can. I have 10 lb weights on standby too for when I'm ready for them. :-)

P.S. Target has weights on sale this week, if you want to invest in another set or two. :-)
