What are you hoping to "cleanse"?
Don't waste your time, money or health. The body does an excellent job of "cleansing" itself. Just treat it right and it will treat you right. There is no "cleanse" as effective as simply eating well.
"The best way to 'detox' the body is simply to let your body do its job. Unless you have a medical problem, your body takes care of itself quite nicely, experts say.
"The liver and kidneys are nature's best-kept secret, because they are the weapons to eliminate toxins from your body," says Gerbstadt. "If you are concerned about certain substances in your diet, it is easier and safer to simply eliminate [those substances] rather than engage in unhealthy detox plans."

According to Chau Che MD, with New York University:
"Despite evidence to the contrary, the idea that colon cleansing is therapeutic by removing impurities, lives on. However, these claims largely fail to consider normal physiology. The digestive tract has inherent properties that work to clean our colon. After food ingestion, the small intestine absorbs nutrients and contracts to move indigestible residue into the colon. The colon continues the digestive process by absorbing and secreting electrolytes and fluids while its resident bacteria ferments the undigested food products. These are just some of the many mechanisms in which the digestive tract works in order to ensure that the colon does not become encrusted with fecal matter as some products claim. The black, rubbery material passed on a colon cleanse is actually a byproduct from the supplements and fiber in the colon cleansing product as opposed to old fecal material, in which consumers are led to believe."

Read this before you start. Then make up your own mind. Good luck!0 -
I just did the Lichi 6-Day cleanse (it's 6 little Lychee Berry juice shots) & really liked it! No weird side effects & I feel really good after using it. The juice itself tastes awful, IMO, but it's such a small amount that it's no big deal. You can find it in any grocery or department store!0

DON'T DO IT.
It's a myth that it helps.
Seriously.

Thank you for posting this. What people don't realize is they are doing more harm than good. I posted an article as well above.0 -
As long as you have a liver and kidneys, then a cleanse is unnecessary.0

There are natural ways to help your irregularity without 'cleansing' your body. Try to add more fiber in to your diet in the form of fruits and raw veggies. Also, make sure you're getting enough healthy fats, because that helps too.0 -
ok...at the risk of sounding like an idiot...My Dr. told me that everyone has parasites if they have eaten meat...So I am doing a natural Parasite cleanse....If our bodies are consuming food that is bad for it then does it not make sense that it is too bogged down trying to deal with the processed crap to do it's job?? Isn't a cleanse a way of helping your body to clean itself out? I don't mean a master cleanse I mean a raw cleanse or natural cleanse??0

i used to try colon cleansing diets.. and i hated them so i didnt stick to them.. i wound up screwing up my system because of it.. i found if you drink a lot of water-- use lemon and even green tea.. and eat right , exercise..rid yourself of habits of eating fatty, salty and sugary foods and you will find that you are a new person!! dont do the cleansing because you think you will lose weight either.. it all comes back on once you resume your normal daily eating habits0

Avocado, nuts, peanut butter, canola oil, flax oil (or seeds, ground up), olive oil ... There are more, but that's what comes to mind.0 -

It's very unlikely that if you live in a first world country that you are acquiring parasites from eating meat. And if you are, there is no cleanse in the world gonna get rid of them.0 -

Green tea, ok. But no more sugar? Ahh! lol I'm just kidding. I'm a chocoholic, but I know sugar needs to be cut down a bit more. Thanks!0 -

I highly recommend Green & Black's 85% cocoa dark chocolate. It's incredibly rich, so you only need a little bit and you're good to go. And even if you don't like dark chocolate (normally, I don't), you'll like it. Lower in sugar than a lot of other chocolate and full of good things, too. It tastes kind of like chocolate cheesecake and isn't bitter like other darks.
I can't give up sugar entirely, either. But lowering your intake is a good idea.0 -

So my Dr is lying? thank you for your information, but parasites are actually quite common, and it is not just from eating medium rare meat, it is from the air if you ever lay on the ground to suntan, or eat fruit and veggies without washing them...the reality is that most of what a person consumes now is created in a factory ran by tons of people who cannot be guaranteed are clean all the time, not to mention regardless of how many precautions are made there is not a health inspector watching over every machine in every factory at every moment. Which means that without even including the crap that is packaged is extremely bad for our bodies there is no way to guarantee what is going into our bodies is good...Yes your liver and colon have a job to do, but if you have taxed your liver kidneys and colon because of the crap you have eaten then it cannot possibly take care of everything, thus being overweight and unhealthy....So cleaning your body out with a healthy cleanse or eating only fruits and veggies for a period of time is actually good for the body and the body needs it....If we look at it like a a cut on your body if cleaned and taken care of it will heal itself but if left to the dirt and grime of life it will get infected, logic says cut your organs a break and clean them, take care of them and they will heal your body....
I might also add that colds, flu's, etc,..are parasites and bugs...and they need to be cleaned out....I can imagine that doing a lemon juice with cyan is not a good idea...but cleansing by doing juices, vegetables, and not processed food cannot possibly be not needed...So I guess I am sorry but I do not agree with everyone...I think the body does need breaks from the havoc we put it through daily...and before it is said that obviously we should only eat healthy....look at peoples diaries.....oatmeal (Made at a factory) diet foods, everywhere also chemicals and made at a factory....meats...cut my butchers and a lot of them run through meat factory...the average person cannot afford to go to the farmer, or to the organics so a cleanse even while eating better is still needed to cut our organs a break and give them a chance to clean us out....
just my two cents and I have no doubt many will disagree...0 -
see earlier. I put a WEBMD article up. Bugs need to be in your gut to keep a healthy immune system.0
