Hi,

I know breakfast is important but I i have never been a breakfast person I find it really hard to find the time and just not hungry at all. I don't love cereals really and the only thing I ever end up having when I decide to get back on the breakfast wagon is smoothies.....any suggestions for light and easy breakfast ideas?

Thanks!

    oatmeal pakets,healthy and easy!
  • I always do some egg beaters between 2 slices of light Italian bread, around 105 calories. I prefer those slices of bread instead of a liquid breakfast.

I'd say as far as easy would be fruit, yogurt, granola. You can do oatmeal with toppings. Peanut butter with banana, waffle, toast.
If you are in a major hurry, then you could grab a protein bar.

This morning I made a Ham Egg Cup. It was very easy and very good. I got the recipe off a post here from yesterday. It's 100 calories per serving. And I had it with an english muffin this morning. It takes 20 minutes I'd say total, if you have time to spare.

    Good luck! Breakfast rocks.

Smoothies ARE light and easy. Lol. I have shakes or cereal myself. My hubby has oatmeal. We aren't too creative in is household
  • an egg (boiled is quick on the go), few grape tomatoes, maybe 1 slice of toast. piece of fruit or yogurt

i was never a breakfast food fan- i'd rather eat hot dogs in the morning than oatmeal, cereal, waffles, eggs, etc... until i started paying attention to my calories. now i mix up an egg (or 2- depends how hard i worked out) with cheese and maybe mushrooms, spinach, ham and/or olives and toss it in the little Sylvania omelet maker while i start my day in the office... 5-10 mins later i have breakfast while i'm at my desk typing and answering phones!

Hi, that's the thing......I am the same, don't like most breakfast items like waffles, pancakes cereals.......they don't taste like real food to me.......lol so it's always been smoothies, fruit or yogurt if I had to run....but that's as creative as it's ever gotten! LOVE grape tomatoes though, ......Actually the omlete maker sounds like a GREAT idea, honestly going to look into that .......and I've just bought steel cut oatmeal......never been a real fan of oatmeal but never had this kind and so maybe try berries in it or something like that!

I like shakes. My shake consist of Chocolate Protein, 1% milk, half a bananna and a big tablespoon of peanut butter. I have a hamilton beach single serviing blender/cup in my office (walmart 17 bucks). I throw a lil ice, blend it and and its awesome. Im working to build muscle but it also solves my appetite until lunch. The shake taste like desert shakes. I even make one when I go home from the gym. I buy protein in bulk and split it up (keep one here and at office). The shake is about 400 calories based on my protein i use.

If you dont like that, I like the "lean pockets for breakfast." Walmart sells them individually wrapped for .98 cent a piece. I like the bacon one, good and satisfying. I think around 160-180 calories.
  • In your case since your not a big fan of breakfast, why not grab a couple of slices of deli meat(ham or turkey), and a a piece of string cheese, and maybe some grapes. Also you can add a few whole wheat crackers. Or, get a wedge of The Laughing Cow cheese and spread it on some rice cakes, and a piece of fruit.
