5 pound weight gain...overnight

Friday night I went to the ER with what turned out to be a ruptured cyst. I was given tons of motrin for the pain and fluids, and I had to drink a ton of stuff for my cat scan. I got a prescription for hydrocodone and cyclobenzaprine and took two of each yesterday. Yesterday when I woke up at 10:00 in the am I was 159.8. This morning I am up to 165. I called the pharmacist and he says it is probably the hydrocodone pills.

What is in the hydrocodone pills that made me gain 5 pounds in 24 hours? Will this extra weight come off after stopping? This is not what I needed after losing three pounds this week! Now I have gained back those three pounds plus two! Ugh!

    First of all, feel better! I'm sorry to hear you went through this. I'm just that the ER giving you fluids caused you to gain "weight" but not fat. When you are all better I am sure it will come back off again. I know it SUCKS seeing the number go up. I'd avoid the scale until after you have recovered. Drink plenty of water, get better, and you'll be back on track. HUGS!

    i know its water weight, first u got fluids but anytime you take pain meds it kind of backs up .your system
