I have just seen an advert on telly for Truvia! I am so happy that it is finally available in the UK. I am currently trying to move away from artificial sweeteners and was looking for a good alternative. There is a good one in Waitrose already that I was going to go for but I am definitely going to try Truvia.

Just thought I'll share

Awesome! Looks like its going to be available in all the major supermarkets too!

I found the official UK website and one handy thing it has is a conversion chart for how much you should use which I think is gonna be great for baking protein bars and the like!

That's great! I just looked and 2 tsp of sugar is 3/4 of a tsp of Truvia. That is good to know as I want to use it for my tea so if the packet looks small it probably still goes a long way.

Why is that if you don't mind me asking? I just started to think about what type of sweetener to use but for me stevia seems a better choice as it is natural whereas hermesetas is artificial or not?

I just want to try and have as many natural products in my diet as possible....

Well with Truvia being co-owned by both Coca-Cola and Cargill - you are not getting natural Stevia. Instead, you are getting a processed version, so in essence, it is an artificial sweetener.

And besides the fact, they are using GMO plants to manufacture this stuff.

    Hello

Thanks for all the input. As I mentioned I only just started to look into alternatives to artificial sweetener. It seems I still have quite a bit to learn

Truvia does not sound that appealing anymore. Waitrose sells a natural alternative to sugar. I will do a bit more of research and see which would be best for me.

Thanks again for all your information :flowerforyou:
