Do stretch marks go away with weight loss?

Specifically marks from pregnancy, not general weight gain/loss. If I'm losing weight with healthy diet and exercise, is it possible that the map of Narnia on my belly will go away? :[

My pregnancy stretch marks on my side (love handle area) have shrunk from approx 6 inches in height to 1 inch as I have lost weight! I need to invest in some Lavender Oil to rub into them though as apparently it will help them fade over time!x0

I don't know from experience but from what I have gathered, they may become lest noticeable but will not go away all together without either laser treatments or creams, depending on how bad they are. Since you're not actually getting rid of skin, just the weight beneath it, I think the marks on the skin itself are going to stay put, despite what may go away.
I wish they did though. I just realized the other day that I have a few on my tummy. Made me sad. I don't even have kids.0 -

That's awesome! Congrats! I was just thinking about how it seems like stretch marks are more noticable on bigger women...I wasn't sure if it was because they have more or if it really does diminish with weight loss. Of course I should've specified that I realize they never FULLY go away...which is okay, I just am sick of looking down and going UGH!0 -
My pregnancy stretchmarks on my stomach and hips have decreased in size a little bit since I started losing weight; however, they're s till as red as they were at the beginning. I massage them with a bit of oil after every shower and I'm hoping the colour will fade over time. I suppose it also depends on your skin type. when I get a scar, it always takes quite a bit for it to go back to my normal skin tone.0

Palmer's, Palmer's, Palmer's!!!! Your stretch marks are relatively new as were the random ones that appeared on my hips a few years back. I used Palmer's Stretch Mark oil and they disappeared COMPLETELY within a couple of months. They were bad, I'm telling you; red raw and massive to start with, and then calming down and scarring up nicely (i.e settling down to stay!). Really not good. Anyway, the oil absolutely did the trick and there is no trace of them whatsoever now.
Palmer's Scar Serum. It stinks from the fish oils in it, but it works! http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp?pid=92679&catid=1829180 -

Stretch marks fade with time. The only thing that will make them disappear is surgery.0
