Since I started exercising yesterday my knee has been killing me. I had to do my exercises in socked feet today which is not safe cause if I miss step could fall off a 6" step. I think I need new shoes anyone have any idea of shoes that are good for walking and stepping.

Let me know
Mel

if your knee is hurting during exercise.its probably not caused by shoes.

you may have issues with the knee itself.

there really isnt any shoe anyone can recommend..since everyone's feet are different.
  • I would suggest you go to your nearest specialist running shop (Google is your friend in these instances) to get your gait analysed. They will see how your weight is transferring on impact & recommend a shoe type to support you.

Don't be put off because you're not running, the correct supporting shoe can help out in all exercise.

I agree it may not be your shoes that are causing your knee pain. BUT if you are looking for new shoes, head to the nearest running store. Even if you are not a runner, they will do a free gait analysis and can recommend shoes that will work for you and what you want to do. You may also want to consider a chiropractor as misalignments can cause pain in hips, knees, and legs. Feel better soon.

I agree about the specialist running shop. I went to one recently and was amazed at the service and the care they took in fitting my shoes. I'm not a runner but I'm turning into a walker. Have to so I can make it through the Komen 3 Day that I signed up for when I obviously must have been under the influence of something - LOL.

It has to be the shoes cause i have been working out for the last 3 days without them and my knee is fine. But i need shoes so that i am more stable stepping on and off the 6" step that i am using.

Thanks for all your ideas I will go to the running store here and get them to analize me.
