What percentage of my daily goal of calories, etc, should I have in each meal/snacks? For instance - should my breakfast have the most calories, and lunch the least? What's a good breakdown?

It's all personal preference, you could even skip breakfast and have larger lunches and dinner

One thing I know for sure is that skipping breakfast is not a good thing. If I don't eat breakfast my metabolism basically shuts down.

I tend to eat the majority of my food before noon most days because that's when I feel hungriest as I work out in the AM. Everyone is different though.

does that work for you? idk if my trainer is correct, but he now wants me to eat more at breakfast so it gets burned off and doesnt sit there. does it really matter? i am finding though that my body feels better throughout the day when i eat more breakfast, i just skip my afternoon snack

It really doesn't matter if you eat most in the morning, noon or night. But if you feel better eating breakfast, by all means continue doing so

Skipping breakfast or eating it has no effect on metabolism. It may lead to you being hungry, and making poor food choices, but metabolically speaking it doesn't make a difference.

Personally i skip breakfast without fail, have a smallish lunch, then a big dinner! :D

I suggest doing whatever will allow you to stay on your diet and lose weight (or whatever your goal is). It doesn't matter when you eat as long as your meeting your goals at the end of the day / week. If you're really not a breakfast-person and are eating an AM breakfast because "they" say it's the most important meal of the day, yet you're eating late at night and blowing your entire day, then consume the majority of your calories later in the day. Just do what works best for you.
