Hi, I am a new member. Just want to say hi to everyone. Also I need help with the food log. I understand to put the actual food serving of the food, but how can you change it if you don't consume all of the food serving for an example southwestern egg beater serving size is 3 tablespoons. I consumed 1/4 cup of this, not 3 tablespoons how can change the serving size of food already in the database?

Here is what I do:
If you only had 1/4 of a 3 tablespoon serving. Multiply 0.25 * 3 = 0.75. So it's like you had 3/4 of 1 tablespoon.
Also, if you cannot find a food in the database that matches your food product and it's nutrition label, you can add a food to the database. Just search for the food normally, and at the bottom of the screen, there's a link that will ask if you didn't find what you were looking for. You can click there and it will redirect you to a page that will let you add a food to the data base.
You can also create your own foods and recipes so that if you're making something from scratch, you can add everything that you put into the recipe and tell the site how many servings are in the recipe, and it will give you the calculations for how ever many servings you are planning to have at that time.0 -
Hi
I am new on here too and struggle with the same thing. You can adjust the qty part so could maybe make it a bit more eg 1.2? I also was told that you can add your own foods which means you can set the serving portion but I haven't worked that bit out yet. Good luck with it though. I am finding everything else is great! So motivating.0 -
Just double click on your food entry and re-enter the amount that you actually ate0

Hi! and welcome!! Good choice coming here!!
To change the serving size, you have to be in the process of adding it to your diary. When you choose "add food" then choose the food you want to add, you'll see a box to the right where you'll be able to change the serving size in 2 ways...
- With the drop down box. Often there are different choices like 6oz, 1oz, 1 cup, etc
- Once you've chosen the closest measurement, like, say, 1 Cup but you've only eaten 1/4 Cup, in the box in front of "servings of" you can put in a decimal. For instance 1/4 of a cup would be .25, 1/2 of a cup would be .5, 1/3 of a cup would be .33
I hope this helps!! Don't get discouraged, it gets easier and easier to do. Also, if you get the app on your phone, many of them have a bar code scanner, you just scan what you're eating and enter the # of servings and that's it, so easy, I do this all the time!!
If you are super honest with your portions, this WILL get you the results you want, guaranteed!!!0 -
I put in, say .5 and it calculates it correctly0
