Lay flat on your back, arms at your side (not under your bum) and lift your legs (keep them straight!) 10cm (4 inches) off the ground and see how long you can hold.
Post your time.

    Planks are another good way to do this sort of thing. Basically a push-up position on your elbows, holding your body straight in push-up form.

    We had to do that in bootcamp as punishment, by the end we could do it all day long. LOL

    Well it's also a different set of muscles within your core. Doing both would produce a well rounded approach.

    PLEASE do not try this if you have a bad lower back!!! There are a LOT of ways to strengthen your core without putting added stress on your back.

    Assuming you want a well-rounded core.

    That's true. The other day I was out Bodyboarding and there was a guy on a longboard doing pushups on his board between sets. I was impressed to say the least.
