I am having an apple cider that I made in my keurig coffee machine. And the question that I have is since I made it using the machine does it count for my water intake?

Preference. Its your call0

I've been told if you wouldn't wash your clothes in it then it doesn't count as water. I don't think that's a hard and fast rule, though.0
-
Ok, I will then count it as a water drink because it is made from the water out of my coffee maker. Thanks for your output, I just was not sure.0
-
I think it is a personal thing. For me, I don't count anything but pure water towards my water intake for the day. Other people think anything they drink can be counted. All about personal choices.0
-
Just keep in mind all of the extra sugar younger gettin with your "water". Try & drink the real stuff...0
-
that would be a big fat NOPE!0
-
I wouldnt count it - its not called water once the ingrediants change.
Try drinking 8 glasses of real water, then have that stuff as extras. Your body will thank you for it.
I personally have minimum 8 glasses of water, then always one extra to flush out the sugar, caffeine etc for each 'other' drink I have.0 -
If it's from Keurig, I'd say yes, because you'd count a bottle of water you put a packet of powder into to flavor it. Same thing in my eyes!0
-
How you count it may be a personal choice, but your body doesn't really care what you count. It will still use the water as hydration, no matter what your personal feelings on the matter may be.0
-
It's better if you only drink water, that is all your body really wants and desires. On the other hand, any liquid you see is meerly flavored water! Count the water, but log the calories... that's what I do. If you drink 10 cans of coke vrs 10 cans of water you're still gonna be taking a big bathroom break. But the nutritional value from drinking the coke is obviously going to kill you for calories and sugar intake.0

I just checked the sugar values in both and the one made by Keurig has less sugar than the one that is sold in the store that i work in which is Winn Dixie. Keurig sells the Green Mountain Naturals which has less sugar only 16g where the one in winn Dixie has 28, it also has less sodim only 10mg.0

I count my hot tea intake as water.0
-
can you see through it? (excluding maybe sweetened beverages) (answer = answer to your question)0
-
As far as I know, water has no calories, no sugar, and no sodium. I would not count that as water, but as an extra beverage to be logged in your food diary as it does have numbers that will affect your daily counts. If, on the other hand, it does not have calories or sodium as some powdered beverage flavorings, then I could see counting it as water. Just my 2 cents!0
-
It's technically water but I wouldn't count it - I would just think of it as extra water0

No I wouldn't count anything that has had anything added other than LifeWater or VitaminWater. Its not water, its Apple Cider. Shoot, coffee, tea, soda, koolaid would all have to be counted by this logic.0 -
For me personally I believe that water should only be counted if it's pure water. It's sort of like counting soda as water just because it has some water in it. But it's your choice ultimately.0

I have a hard time drinking straight water cause my town water is nasty so I use crystal light to flavor it a bit. I count it as my water but also log my crystal light. I drink a 2qt container daily and log 8glasses of water pluse 40cals for the crystal light. Guess its your personal choice.0
-
I drink Crystal light as well. But once in a while I like something different.0
-
I own the apple cider also. I would say no, since it's almost like apple juice.0
-
I wouldn't count it as water intake. I only count plain old H2O towards my water intake.
I use my Keurig machine everyday to make my tea. I also use it to make hot cocoa, I don't count any of that.0 -
Your vitaminwater is full of almost as much sugar as a can of Coke, btw. Just something to think about when holding it up as a paragon of water intake...0
-
I have never counted anything but water as water.....except the occasional glass of crystal light.0
-
Personally, I log my pure water intake and water used for my green tea.
With green tea the only nutritional uptake I'm getting is the 10g of potassium so I make it a point to add it to my diary.
Would I log a can of coke? Sure. Would I include that as my water intake? Absolutely not. Case by case basis, I suppose.0 -
Any fluid you take in is fluid. Is water your best choice? Sure. But it's not like adding something to the water suddenly prevents it from hydrating you or doing anything else it's supposed to do. Your body extracts water from foods and it will extract it from beverages as well.0

I wouldnt count it as water unless its plain water by itself or with a little lemon for flavour. Things like teas and those crystal light packs you add to water pretty much cancel out the water. i was told they make you retain the water and the water from it cant help out in aiding you with your fibre digestion and all the other great things water itself does. AND crystal light packs ( aspertaine) actually make people crave carbs - its a studied fact.
But in your example with your apple cider, thats mainly sugar so i wouldnt add it as water. What i do when i want a warm beverage i take hot water with lemon or hot water and cucumber makes the water *fresh* or hot water and any sugar free drink powders.
But im sure one hot apple cider a day isnt tonnes of sugar alone - so ENJOY it during these cold times!! Just make sure you track it0 -
It doesn't matter if you count it, you're body will count anything with water in it(including your food) take the water and use it. Obviously, some drinks will count as less than a full cup e.g. a diuretic like caffeine will mean your body won't get the full cup of water but there will still be a net water gain.
The question really, is how much water do you want to drink.0 -

So you have a link to this 'fact'?0 -
In my book, only log water as water otherwise it is a beverage. Once you cross that line you have to start worrying about how caffeine drinks dehydrate, sugars, etc. Do juices count? Tea? Coffee? Watermelon? Lol, obviously that last one was a joke, but really almost EVERYTHING has water in it, so I wouldn't even start trying to redefine that distinction.
Also, in my opinion, the best thing about tracking water intake isn't so much the hydration (which, as said, can come from many sources) but it kindof forces you to drink yourself full. I notice I eat healthier when I drink plenty of water because I am not as hungry. Also, drinking straight water is a type of refreshing that other beverages just don't give. But this is more about my preferences than your question, so Ill shut up now 8X0 -

When I was drinking tap water, I never drank straight water. Please seriously consider a filter. It tastes so much better and, if you are like me, it helps with that "WHY does my town water taste so bad" paranoia!0
