    Yes, just a brand name.

Just another artificial sweetener, no different than any of the others.

I don't think that is entirely true. It is natural and not artificial like aspartame, etc.

Plus, I just did some research. Truvia is not the same as Stevia. Truvia contains the natural sugar alcohol Erythritol as well as Stevia.
  • I haven't done a ton of research on Truvia, but I use it all the time (well, within reason). It's sweeter than normal artificial sweetener, and I'm rather certain that what I've read has given it a positive review in comparison with Sweet N Low and those types of sweeteners. I highly recommend it. Plus, you'll only need half a packet for a cup or two of tea since it is a little sweeter, so you might actually be saving that way.

It's natural in the sense that it's derived from the stevia plant, but it's still manufactured in a lab, and doesn't occur on its own in nature. Just like aspartame, whose components are both also found in nature (they are actually amino acids that the human body manufactures on a constant basis) that also happens to be manufactured in a lab because the end result doesn't occur in nature.

I use it every day in my coffee. I don't know - or care - about it's status as "natural" or not, but I prefer it because it only takes me one packet where I always needed two of Splenda/Equal/whatever.

I too use truvia, actually the walmart brand of it. comparing actual truvia from walmart brand truvia is more of a granular consistency where as the walmart brand is powdery. But to me they taste the same. For me it is a great substitute for sugar as before I started to change my habits at a restaurant in one cup of coffee I would put in 3 creamers and 5 to 7 packets of regular sugar. Before I found truvia I got down to only having to use 3 to 4 packets of sugar. Now with truvia I can put one packet of it in my coffee and be good. To me I prefer truvia over all other artificial sweetners because to me they all have that funny aftertaste and to me truvia does not. Hope this helps. :)

If you did your research then why are you asking us?

I looked it up after asking the question here. Sorry? I feel like people are being really snarky on here lately....and I just joined so I don't have much to go on!
