I think you need to do whatever works for you.
It is very easy to underestimate the amount of food you are consuming, which is why most of us put on the pounds.
If you continue to measure your food you'll soon get used to seeing the size of the portions and will gradually not need to measure, as you will know.

I measure everything, even a glass of milk. It drives everyone around me absolutely crazy!!
Same here. MFP is addicting, I log in all the time and I measure everything. I also log in before and after I eat to make sure everything is accurate.0 -
