I'm just wondering as I'm nearing my first goal of 140 and wasn't sure what a good weight to go for was?

    My goal is 125.

I seem to be stuck at 137.2 right now though.

It depends on your frame and your fitness goals. If you're trying to get athletic and muscular, you'd shoot a bit higher than someone that just wants to slim down. The healthy range listed on this site for a 5'4" woman is anywhere from 107-145. So 140 would be in the healthy range, but you also have to take bodyfat% into consideration b/c even in a healthy BMI it's still possibly to have an unhealthy bodyfat%.

Anyway I'm 5'4" and my final goal is 125 b/c that's nicely in the middle of the healthy range and I felt it was realistic and not extreme for me based on my past experiences. Different people can have different goals. I'm only 7 lbs away from my goal weight but I feel like I need to focus more on lowering my bodyfat and less on the number on the scale at this point.
  • I am 5' 4" and when I first joined the gym and met with the personal trainer, I was given an optimal weight for my height and age as 133lbs. That is what I am working towards.

I'm 5'4, and my goal as of now is 140, but anywhere from 110-140 is a good weight for this height. When I was in high school I barely hit 120 and I was happy at that weight, but even at 140 I was happy and healthy.
  • My goal is 118, currently at 126
  • 125...if I go below that it is very difficult to maintain.
  • My goal is 115-130
  • 132 pounds=60 kilos
  • I am now at 206. I am normally 149 ( which is the highest the doctor will let you go at my height 5 foot 4.5 inches). I was always in great shape and excellent health at that weight. My goal is to get down to 140-145 so I have room to play with. MFP suggest I be 145. When I drop below 140 pounds my head looks way to BIG for my body. Anyway, I am also concerned with my size probably more than my wieght.
    Good luck
  • My first goal is to get to 140. I'd like to get to 120 -130 overall though. but right now I'm just working toward getting into the 140's.... I have a ways to go! :)

Well I want to get to 140 first. I am 186 today. As I get a little closer to my goal I will re-evaluate.

I'm 5'4" and went from 193 to 133 in a year. Now I'm at 130 and still losing a pound every 2 weeks or so, but losing inches like crazy! The fat is still coming off but I'm replacing it with muscle almost pound-for-pound. I think I will probably "bottom-out" at 125 or so, based on how much strength training I do.
  • I was 218 lbs at my heavest Im 192 lbs now and was 195 when I started on here my goal is 150 lbs at least

i'm 5'4'' as well and my current goal is 135lbs. i think the weight range for our height is topped out at about 140 so anything around there or a little lower...i don't see a single thing wrong with!!
  • I am 5"4" also my goal is 135lbs. When I was that weight, that is when I felt at m very best.

I'M 5'4" and small boned. My goal is about 107 and I've skyrocketed up to 120 the last few years. I'd like to lose 10-13 lbs but would settle for losing inches.

I'm 5'4" and am shooting for 128. I'm currently 138, it seems like those last 10 pounds are the hardest to lose! I think anywhere from 115 to 145 is a good place to be :)

I am 5'4 and my first goal would be 140 but in between 125 & 130 is my uktimate goal. In high school I was no more than 115 ... I look at pics now and seem very skinny. After my daughter was born 9 yrs ago i went up to 125. I like how I looked then :)

145 is my first goal. It's at the higher end of a healthy range for women who are 5'4", but I've spent most of my life over 200 pounds, so I'm just working toward 145 for now!

I am 5'4 and have a goal set of 145, I would like to be between 125 - 140 but am not sure if that will be too small for my frame.
  • I'm 5'4" and my goal is 130!

My goal is to drop to 120lb initially, then to start working on building muscle and toning up.
  • Initially, my goal was 140. Then I kept going and kept losing -- I'm apple-shaped, so I still have fat to lose in my belly, hips and thighs. I'm at 129 now; my new goal is 125. I want to give myself 5 lbs of wiggle room, figuring I can (hopefully) maintain between 125 and 130.
But losing the last bit is a sloooow process (and it should be, frankly). My MFP goal is set for 1/2 a pound a week. Lately I've been losing about 1 lb a week, but that's mostly because I stopped eating like a pig like I was over the holidays. Soon that rate will settle down to a 1/2 lb or less a week. And I'm OK with that. I also need to tone up/build muscle!

I'm a hair over 5'4" and my ideal weight is 135. at that weight I'm about a size 8 and I'm thin but not bony. I have a larger frame though, and carry a few extra pounds well.
  • I am 5'4 and have always been over weight. My biggest was 185. After having both my children I weighed 145-150 and I was extremely happy with that I was a size 6. I could see my collar bone. I am now back up to 174 and put my goal at 150, I think any smaller than that for my build would look too skinny! So I think it all depends on your bone structure.
