Should I count calories in vitamins and supplements?

I take calcium in the form of a chew and I also take my omegas in gel capsule form. I've been counting it in my journal and it comes to a little over 100 calories. I was just wondering if anyone else does this???

Only if there's calories in them I think... I never count vitamins but was shocked when I realized the fish oil capsules I was taking were 10 calories each... Still - I only add them when I want to monitor my vitamins and nutrients a bit better.

Yeah, I count all my vitamins. Fish oil has 10 for each pill, emgerencee has 25 for each drink and so on. The little calories can add up fast.

If there are calories then yes I count them. Plus when I look at my chart it shows me if I am getting enough nutrients

A calorie is a calorie. And, they add up. I would count them.

I thought about it, but it's like 50 calories. Not even worth my time. I have to draw the line somewhere...

I count shakes but don't bother with vitamins.

I feel like a calorie is a calorie so I add them.

i like to log mine because the fish oil i take is 10 per, and i take 2 a day. not so much worried about the calories in that, but logging it helps me remember to take it >.>

I was about to say an unqualified "no"...then I saw that your vitamins total 100 calories. So, I'm going to offer one of those yes-and-no replies...

So. If you are the sort of person who believes in very rigid calories in/calories out accounting..down to the calorie, I'd say...100 calories is nothing to sneeze at in your world. That's a small snack! So, I'd count it.

If you calorie count just to give you an idea of portion sizes and give you a reason not to eat a whole bag of nuts because they're healthy (my approach), then I'd say, eh, a 100 calories here, a 100 calories there...doesn't seem to make much difference to me in the long run. I figure my lax calorie accounting has more than 100 calories of error anyway. So, in my world, I wouldn't count it.

So, it all depends on what kind of world you're living in.

I've been counting mine, and I think by counting them not only do you have a better picture of your actual calorie intake, you have a better picture of your nutrition as well.
