Hey all just wondering if your pet motivates you to get out and jog or walk? I just adopted a Multese puppy and he is so active so before I got to work I try to jog at least 1.5-2 miles with him becuase he is going to be in his crate all day without me. THe benefit is for me too since usually I am not so motivated to get up early enough to workout much.

My other dog Freckles (part dalmation/part yellow lab) she gets to roam the yard but tends to pull my arm too much when jogging.

Anyway since getting Sammy I have been a little more active

I don't run but my cats do yoga with me. They stretch and walk circles around me. Lounge on the carpet and inspire flexibility.

my aussie has a heart problem, so the long walks had to end:frown: . Poor baby.

But I like to run her to the end of the block and back. She looks so happy and I get my heartrate up for my walk.

My other dog is a black lab and she will run for DAYS!! Oh my that dog has some energy!

I walk/jog her ( I have seen this refered to as wogging but I feel fat when I say that:laugh:  )

Yeah, I've created quite a few new yoga moves when one of my cats decides to curl up and lay down on my yoga mat while I'm in the middle of a warrior pose. It's more like Twister than yoga.

i used to have a lab (died 2.5 yrs ago) and I walked him lots, incl the AM i was in labor with my first child (i was hoping tomove things along).

i just got a puggle puppy and i can tell she wants to get movin' more. i am so looking forward to taking her on walks (w/baby in jog stroller). i just have to wait another week and 1/2 for immuniz to finish taking effect.
for now, she's confined to the backyard. :frown:

i completely agree that having a dog who depends on you to keep him/her healthy is a great motivator. and for me it's relaxing too.

i never thought about cats and yoga--how fun.

My Sheltie must have his daily exercices or else he will chew on things and bark way too much. He is definitely motivation and I love to see that happy face while we're walking!!!
