Well Im a little confused about the Myfitnesspal chart when it comes to carbs vs protein
On the chart is shows we should consume 200 carbs and only 56 protein. If it did that I would blowup like a balloon.

To me the ratio should be less carbs more protein , More like 100 or more protein 100 less carbs and 50-75 fat

How would your weight loss react if you ate the 200 carbs vs 56 protein???

It would be fine. That's the right proportions.

You can customize the settings - many of us have! I aim to keep carbs under 100, and try to reach 100g protein.

I do think that mfp has the protein set way to low. I set mine at about 45 %. The carbs I ignore since I try to eat low carb anyway. I do eat lots of fruits and veggies but I stay way from breads and pasta. I think that is where you would gain weight is if you tried getting all your carbs in with the unhealthy type of carbs!!
  • MFP seems to target FDA minimums when it comes to protein, unfortunately. While carbohydrates are your body's preferred energy source, there are several merits to increasing your protein intake and lowering carbohyrates, especially for muscle gain/support while cutting calories and resistance training and satiety.

MFP has the protein set too low. I still get carbs but I raised my protein intake quite a lot in my settings.
  • I didnt realize you could change the settings. I looked all through the settings.. Can someone tell me how to change it???:flowerforyou: I want to customize my settings to what I normally try to eat. Yes I realize fruits and veggies have carbs. Those are fine. I have cut out bread, sugars, and many starches from my diet. I do indulge now and then but not often. Just special occasions. I notice when I do eat them though I have very quick gains.
