Calorie differences on MFP and display of equipment

Hey guys,

Have you noticed that the cardio equipment in the gym seem to register a smaller amount of calories burnt than what MFP shows?
If both these values are based on averages, which one is more accurate?
For the past two months I've been manually entering the values from the equipment, because I figured that I'd rather under estimate exercise calories.
What do you think?

I do the same thing. I rather under estimate. I also try to watch my heart rate and calculate the number of calories. I would like more insight on this as well

It does it for me too. I'm the same as you, where I always go with the lower number. If it's something I couldn't measure (like Zumba) I just trust it, but try not to add all of the calories back into my day so as to give myself some sort of cushion.
