  • Yes! In my continual quest for enlightenment (and ways to fritter away my money) I did at one point attempt living a macrobiotic lifestyle. If you enjoy pickled plums and sea vegetables you will enjoy eating macrobiotic food. It's very carb heavy and relies on a hint of the exotic to market the recipes. As I have experienced the exotic I was not sold. Ultimately I decided that a meal of a few adzuki beans, a whole lot of rice and a plate of green stuff was not really my thing. And I really like rice, beans and green stuff!

In summary... limit the fish, limit the beans (once a day, five days a week), no sugar but alternative sweeters like brown rice syrup ok, eat a lot of vegetables, always eat seasonal foods, sanctioned cheating with food watermelon is to me not cheating at all. It drove me batty. And I lost no weight as I was always starving and gorged myself on rice at every opportunity.
