No help to you but will be watching replies with interest. I had three deliveries in 2 years and my tummy is horrible after it. My last baby was 5.1kg! I know the stretch marks won't go (although they are not too bad really) but I would love to tone it up.

Your split muscles and extra skin can't be helped with any amount of exersize
. But you can try to loose most your fat and the rest of you will look good. But I can't recommend a tummy tuck enought. I got down to a size 2 and still needed the surgery. Anyone that says its a cop out has no idea what they are talking about

I know, once I started I couldn't stop LOL!. I had DD1 in March 2008, DD2 in early April 2009 (she was due in March but was overdue) and DD3 in March 2010!

It's taken me until now to get my head around losing weight as I have a little more time to myself. I would really love to get my pouch sorted. I hate the saggy bit "under" my tummy!!!! ARghhhhhhhhhhhh

ESPECIALLY if you have a condition called diastasis recti - you can do exercises to help the muscles close up, but it is very gradual, and I highly recommend you see a physical therapist that specializes in physical therapy for women. In extreme cases, yes, a tummy tuck is required. & I would only recommend getting one after you lose all the belly fat you can like this woman did. Totally not a cop out, quite the contrary. I'm not even sure I have DR can't really tell yet, but if my belly still looks like pizza dough (sorry for the visual) you bet I'll be getting one as well!

ETA: start with post partum exercises and work your way up.

  • I was sent to a physical therapist after my twins because, and let me apologize in advance if I slaughter this medical explanation, one set of my ab muscles were pulled apart incorrectly during my emergency c-section. She had me start out by doing exercises that forced me to focus on my belly button dropping to the floor while making small movements. That helped me quite a bit.

I still have a pooch in my lower abdomen, below my scar. Part of it is the yucky "twin skin" and part of it is just c-section aftermath.

That being said, running and doing P90X's ab ripper has gotten me to the point where my stomach is toned enough that I proudly wear a bikini in summer.

I actually went to a surgeon to see how much it would cost to permanent fix my stomach - close up those muscles and remove excess skin. That procedure is more involved than just your average tummy tuck. It was pricey - I want to say $8000 - but the part that scared me off was how serious the surgery was. It's way more involved than a c-section. They keep you overnight in the hospital and you have to have pump in your stomach for a few days. I can't do it because I keep thinking, "What if I die during this procedure, and my kids would lose their mother over a tight stomach?"

Oh but let me say, I completely support anyone who has a tummy tuck / muscle repair and understand the reasoning. It's just not something I felt was a good decision at this point in my life.

I had 3 babies in 2 years too, and I have to say that eating right to lose the exxcess fat, and then doing P90X with AB Ripper X helped tremendously with getting my belly toned up better. I never got it totally flat, but prob b/c I have another one there now :) Good luck!
  • What helped me was: P90X Ab Ripper X; Insanity Abs (at least 3-4 days out the week) and vigorous Incline sprinting (7.0 incline sprinting at 9.0 speed for 60 seconds x 10 times.....(also, this coulda been in my head but I took CLA, Fish Oil, Green Tea Extract supplements). Maybe you can try? Hope this helps

get pregnant, it will firm that right up in about 4-6 months.
  • One more thing....try Hip Hop Abs too. I know it seems kinda cliche' and funny but honestly it REALLY toned my lower abs and I had fun at it. Just do it alone somewhere if you cant dance....(cuz I sure cant dance).....

With any fat on a body we cannot "Spot reduce" unfortunately. The body takes fat from wherever it deems necessary. So basically all you gotta do is keep getting leaner until it takes it from there :)

Once you start putting bf back on your body will probably put it in different places too. I'm experiencing that now.
