I'm a huge, huge fan of pizza! I love it. I can often make room for it in my diet if I am craving it. Problem is? I've been watching what I eat for about a month now. Really focusing on eating good foods, taking my viatmins, avoiding greasy/junk food.
Last night I had pizza with the girls. And the grease on the pizza literally made me sick to my stomach. I threw up when I got home because my body was just rejecting it so hard.
The idea of losing one of my fave foods is kind of depressing.
Do you guys have any good, healthy, pizza recipes? I'd love to try to making my own so I can enjoy it without the negative side effects

try making pizza yourself..like a spinach and chicken pizza so delicous and use lite ranch dressing for the sauce. My kids had a blast helping me make it for dinner.0

My lunch today was 3 portabello mushroom caps with sauce, spinach, cheese, and a bit of chicken. I messed up a little and ended up not able to actually pick them up pizza-style, had to eat it with a fork but it was GOOD. With a little practice I think I can get it to not be so messy so I can eat it like a pizza.
You can also use a tortilla as the base and put your sauce and toppings on top.0 -
Here is a recipe for cauliflower crust pizza http://yourlighterside.com/recipe-the-original-cauliflower-pizza-dough-2/
I made it a couple time and I think it's really good0 -
use a flat out wrap or pita - 100 cals
spread she sauce - 40 cals
sprinkle the cheese - 40 cals for fat free
top with turkey pepperoni or whatever you like - 20-30 cals
bake in the oven and keep an eye on it to not burn the cheese.0 -

Healthy Pizza - Makes 1 serving
* 1/2 ‘Sprouted’ whole wheat bagel
* 1 slice cheese alternative or low fat cheese
* (Veggies Slices-American Flavor works great)
* 4 slices turkey bacon
Microwave bacon until just done. Top bagel half with bacon. Then top with cheese slice.
Toast in toaster oven until cheese melts.0 -
I make mine with normal bread dough, rolled out really really thin, then just top it with passata and a bit of grated cheddar. The way I make it, the whole pizza is 430 cals with just a bit of fat from the cheese (but I don't put much on as I hate cheesy pizza!).0

Wow! Thanks so much everyone I'm super excited to try some of these! I also found a recipe in one of my books for zucchini bites that have sauce/cheese on them that look pretty awesome.0

I use a flour tortilla, small amount of pizza sauce, cheese and any vegetables you like. Very yummy on the grill (my kids favorite as they can make their own and it only takes a few minutes on the grill).
I bring it to work and pop it in the toaster oven.0 -
I usual the boboli bread or even 100 cal english muffins, Ragu pizza sauce, Lowfat mozzerella, turkey pepperoni and / or canadian bacon slices. You could put some olives and mushrooms on if you like. In the oven at 400 for about 10 - 12 minutes.0

My family likes the naan breads/Indian flat breads, LF moz cheese, sauce/add some grilled veggies!0

I make a crust that has only uses oil to grease the bowl and pan, I make my sauce without oil, and I use part skim mozzerella.0
-
I saw a recipe on pinterest where portobello mushroom caps are used in place of crust.0

What I do for pizza is I use pita bread and toppings mine is usually around 405 calories for one whole pita bread pizza and it does taste good to. If you use the white pita bread add 10 more calories.0
-
I, like others here, do the pita pizza, good for lunch and stuff.
Then, if it's for dinner, I make my own regular pizza dough, and like mentioned by a poster above, I just roll it really thin. I make mine veggie all the time, but now and then buy turkey pepperoni.
Being able to have pizza while I lose weight makes me smile!0 -
I use Sarah Lee 45 calorie multi-grain bread. Toast.
Spread pizza sauce on the toast.
Add 3 or 4 slices of turkey pepperoni. Only 70 calories for 17 pieces.
Sprinkle lightly with cheese.
I usually have the oven heated to 450-475 and bake for 10 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
I like to toast the bread first so I don't end up with soggy pizzas0 -
Arnold Italian Herb Pita Pockets- 100 cal
Contadina Pizza squeezable sauce- 40 cal
Generic Shredded cheese- 140 cal
fat free hotdogs or turkey pepperoni- 50 cal
I eat these all the time, love them. I load them with veggies too0 -

Here's a great pizza crust recipe. I make it on weekends and keep it in the freezer.
http://allrecipes.com/recipe/amazing-whole-wheat-pizza-crust/0 -
I use this recipe as a base: http://www.southbeachdiet.com/sbd/publicsite/recipes/Whole-Wheat-Pizza-Margherita.aspx
But I add extra tomatoes, green bell peppers, onions, a few olives (they're high in calories), sometimes turkey pepperoni, seasonings such as garlic and red pepper, and extra cheese. I also make the crust as thin as possible since it really packs on the calories. Additionally, I have started baking the crust for ten minutes before I add the ingredients, otherwise it doesn't cook all the way through and gets soggy from all of the extra veggies. Enjoy!!0 -

I did not look to see where you live but we have a place here in North Carolina called CC's Pizza. I found out by looking at their site they have a pizza called Vegetable Italiano and it only has 90 cals per slice, much less than other pizzas. I went to have some and it was great. With two pieces and just 45 cals from my 1/2 cup salad I was a very happy girl! I wish I had known about the Vegetable Italiano all the other times I pigged out there! Ha!! I am so happy to learn about that!0

I love grilling pizzas. My favorite is
fresh basil, tomato, garlic, and some
mozzorella. I just use a little red sauce
from Del Monte.
At least this is how I used to do it. I may
have to look to lower sodium sauce, or
just make my own marinara. (Tweak it
a little because of MFP) LOL
I usually divide a pound of dough in to 1/3's,
just makes it easier to handle.
Brush olive oil on the side to be cooked:
Only takes a couple of minutes. Close the
lid on low heat.
When the first side is cooked, brush
olive oil on the raw side, and flip it on
to a plate, or a pan.
Top the now cooked side, and return
to the grill. It doesn't take long to cook.
I cook them with the lid down, and the
burners pretty low.
Guess I can't post pics here....0
